The Prophetic Significance of the Counting Down of the Omer

Understanding the prophetic significance of the Counting Down of the Omer prepares you for the coming change and any attacks by the enemy intended to cause division.

The Counting Down of the Omer—the 50 days between Passover and Shavuot—is a time of introspection when the Lord wants to release an impartation of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding so that you can withstand the attacks. He does this by getting you to a place of emotional balance so you can embrace the changes that are coming.

Emotional Balance | The Prophetic Significance of the Counting Down of the Omer

During the Counting Down of the Omer, the Lord is looking to balance your emotions so that you can embrace the change. Maybe you sowed a significant seed at Passover. Then you need to brace yourself for major changes.

When the Lord released a Word during Passover, it also came with great responsibility. The enemy knows this release happened in the spirit, so he is planning an attack on your emotions.

Imagine this…

Imagine that you walked with Yeshua as a disciple. You witnessed great miracles, signs, and wonders. You saw Him multiply loaves and fishes, walk on water, and you were excited. This can be compared to the excitement you experienced at Passover.

However, something tragic happened—the disciples told their families, friends, and spheres of influence that Yeshua was the Messiah—an attack came. Fear and unbelief followed the excitement when their emotions were off balance. Ultimately, a horrible crucifixion followed. Suddenly, everyone doubted.

But after the crucifixion came, the resurrection followed. For 40 days, Yeshua appeared, giving the disciples hope and encouragement, preparing them for the empowerment and fulfillment of the Holy Spirit that would be released at Shavuot.

There was a window of time where they needed to increase their awareness… and the same window is present today.

To understand the prophetic significance of the Counting Down of the Omer, you must remember, observe, confess, and keep your focus on the promises of God.

Use the R.O.C.K to Understand the Prophetic Significance of the Counting Down of the Omer in This Hour

We know the enemy will attack, but the armor of God and the sword of the Spirit will equip and empower us, giving us victory through wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

Let the R.O.C.K. of our salvation release the victory!

  • Remember

Remember the Word and the promises by writing them down. Get a journal and write at the top of the page, “I am seeing the change!” See the changes within yourself and those that are coming. Write down the changes the Lord is doing so you don’t forget.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”—Psalm 32:8

  • Observe

As your self-awareness increases, observe the changes that are happening. Ask the Lord to turn your emotional weaknesses into strengths.

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”—2 Corinthians 12:9

  • Confess

Speak out and confess the Word of God into your weaknesses. As your self-awareness increases, you will be able to know and plan for those times when your emotions get off balance. When you see this happening, start confessing God’s Word over the situation and your emotions.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”—2 Timothy 1:7

  • Keep Your Focus on the Promises

This step ties in with “Remember” above. Writing down the promises helps you keep your focus. As you write them down, it clarifies the vision. Then, every time an attack intended to cause division comes, you will be equipped to keep your focus.

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 3:14

The Enemy’s Plan is Exposed…

The accuser of the brethren wants you to be distracted during the Counting Down of the Omer. If he can get you distracted, he can steal your joy, vision, and peace. He plans to replace those blessings with curses of division.

Stay Focused | The Prophetic Significance of the Counting Down of the Omer

Use A.C.T. to stay focused during this hour (Apply, Change, and Transform)…

  • Apply—Memorize and apply Galatians 5:22-23.

Write this scripture down, declare, and confess it out loud every morning and night. During the Counting Down of the Omer, you will need to balance the emotions of the flesh: envy, jealousy, strife, and anger. Embrace the fruit of the Spirit.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”—Galatians 5:22-23

  • Change—This is key to understanding the prophetic significance of the Counting Down of the Omer in this hour.

Over this period, there will be great opportunities for promotion. These great opportunities will also be when the enemy wants to bring disunity against you. There were mighty blessings released during Passover, so expect trials and tribulations to come for the Word.

The change that needs to happen within you is this: Start confessing His Word in your life. Start proclaiming Psalm 103, forgetting not His benefits. Tell your soul to bless the Lord!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”—Psalm 103:1-5

  • Transformation—Transformation will come as you apply and declare God’s Word.

As you apply Galatians 5:22-23 and make changes by confessing and declaring the Word of God, He will transform you and balance your emotions. This is a supernatural by-product of following His instruction

Jesus warned us that we could be watchful if we knew the thief was coming. So let us be watchful in this hour, heeding the prophetic significance of Counting Down the Omer.

“But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.”—Matthew 24:43

Let us be forewarned and forearmed, knowing that the Lord has given us all we need to overcome in this hour!
