Preparing for Complete Victory in Spiritual Warfare During the Counting Down of the Omer

During the Counting Down of the Omer, the Spirit of the Lord speaks to your heart. There will be specific words He repeats during this time that will bring life and revelation into your circumstances. These words release an anointing that will prepare you for complete victory in spiritual warfare.

The Spirit’s fire is coming to pour fresh oil upon you, giving you eyes to see and ears to hear at Shavuot/Pentecost. Are you ready to receive it?

Key Takeaway: This is a time of introspection when the Lord is preparing you to apply the Word for complete victory in spiritual warfare.

You Left Egypt at Passover. Victory in Spiritual Warfare is on the Horizon.

At Passover, you left Egypt. You were delivered and now you are on a journey to the Mountain of the Lord, waiting and anticipating the instruction that comes at Shavuot by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is a spiritual promotion.

With promotion and blessings come responsibility. Anytime you are delivered from the slavery of an oppressive system or mindset that holds you back, you are given much…

“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”

—Luke 16:10

The next step is to have the knowledge and understanding to manage the promotion.

Key Takeaway: Spiritual promotion follows deliverance. Know how to manage the promotion.

Understanding the Times for Victory in Spiritual Warfare

According to the Hebrew calendar, we are in the month of Ziv, which means ‘light’ or ‘glow.’ This month is also referred to as Iyar, and we can expect the Light of the Word to equip us for victory in spiritual warfare.

The Hebrew months each have a tribe and letter associated with them. This month’s tribe association is Issachar and its letter association is the Hebrew letter ‘vav,’ which is an image of a hook or nail.

The tribe of Issachar: The sons of Issachar understood the times and seasons (see 1 Chronicles 12:32).

The Hebrew letter ‘vav’: The letter ‘vav’ is depicted as a hook or nail. This month is a time for you to connect with Heaven through Yeshua, who was nailed on the cross so that you have a way to the Father.

Key Takeaway: The month of Ziv, or Iyar, is a month of…

  • Revelation
  • Understanding
  • Victory
  • Strength
  • Connection

The Prophetic Significance of the Time

Looking at the biblical account from 1 Kings, we find that Solomon started to build the house of the Lord during this exact period in history (see 1 Kings 6). During the Counting Down of the Omer, King Solomon fulfilled the promise of complete victory that started with his father, King David, when he purchased the threshing floor from Ornan (see 1 Chronicles 21:20-25).

King David Purchased the Threshing Floor During This Time

When King David humbled and fully surrendered himself to the rebuke of the Lord after “being moved by Satan” (1 Chronicles 21:1), God released instruction to build an altar on the threshing floor of Ornan.

David had tapped into the desires of God’s heart after he repented. He saw this threshing floor through God’s eyes—a place where the chaff was separated from the wheat would be transformed into a place of sacrifice and worship. Furthermore, when he followed God’s instruction, the people were healed from the plague (see 1 Chronicles 21:22-27).

Solomon Built the Temple at This Time

As we read in 1 Kings 6, Solomon started to build during the time of the Counting Down of the Omer. It was also during the Counting Down of the Omer that his father, David, purchased the threshing floor (the future site for the temple Solomon would build). King David’s responsibility increased after he purchased the threshing floor, and he passed on this priestly anointing into the land with the assignment coming to fulfillment in his son, Solomon.

We must remember that in Egypt, Moses didn’t tell Pharaoh, “Let my people go so that they may work for Me.” No! God told Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, so that they may worship me”’” (Exodus 9:1, emphasis added, NIV).

Solomon’s building during the Counting Down of the Omer was fulfilling the Word of God that was released during Passover. Therefore, the anointing and revelation the Lord is releasing during this time is a fulfillment of what He spoke to you during Passover.

The Time of Connection

As we learned, the letter ‘vav’ resembles a hook or nail. The purpose of ‘vav’ is to connect one thing to another. When the Lord says, “Enlarge the place of your tent… and strengthen your tent pegs” (Isaiah 54:2), the ‘vav’ is what connects your tent to the Earth. By the ‘vav,’ Yeshua was nailed to the cross and became our connection to the Father.

This month is a time to connect to the revelation and the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s your time to drive down your ‘vav’ and say, “I’m taking responsibility. I’m expanding my tent. And I am preparing for victory in spiritual warfare!”

Key Takeaway: There is a prophetic significance to this time. It’s a period that prepares us to receive the promises of God.

Manage the Promotion for Victory in Spiritual Warfare

Seeing the Patterns

God moves in patterns. Sometimes we can’t see them until after the move of the Spirit, but as we grow closer to Him, He reveals His plans to us. When we want to see the patterns of God, we look to the patterns He gave Israel…

“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”

—Psalm 103:7

The Counting Down of the Omer is when we see God’s pattern of anointing, which equips and empowers us for healing, revelation, strength, and victory. He deals with each of us on a personal level, and collectively, as the Body of Christ.

Per the pattern, the sovereign Spirit of the Lord removes any rebellion in our hearts and takes off the oppressive governments and influences from our lives during this time.

Accepting the Restoration

He is releasing restoration upon the Body of Christ, but we must awaken and accept it. He reveals the Father’s love and victory in spiritual warfare to those who understand their identity and covenant with Him.

Things we have been battling for the past weeks, months, and even years are coming to the surface. He wants us to take our authority in Him and cancel them in the name of Jesus, refusing to take them with us into the next season.

The Lord is telling us to awaken because this is when doors are going to open! It is our responsibility to walk through them.

Being Responsible

With blessings come responsibility. We must take an honest assessment of where we have been, what worked and what didn’t, and ask the Spirit to equip and empower us to make the necessary changes to step into the promotion He has for us

We have a responsibility to partner with the divine nature of God so that we can overcome evil and have victory in spiritual warfare.

“…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

—2 Peter 1:3-4

Three Principles to Prepare for Victory in Spiritual Warfare

Are you ready for complete victory in spiritual warfare? Just as Solomon was completing the fulfillment of King David’s vision of building the Temple, now is a time God has set aside for us to restore the temple of the Holy Spirit in us.

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

—1 Corinthians 6:19

Yeshua the Messiah, living in you, is your absolute hope and glory. Let us come together in agreement that we will accept the promotion, manage it with responsibility, and move forward in the next season.

To do that, follow these 3 principles…

Principle 1:

Ask, “What have I done right?”

At the beginning of the year, you set goals. You wrote them down. Take those out and review them, asking which of those goals were you able to follow through with and produced spiritual fruit in your life.

Principle 2:

Ask, “What have I done wrong?”

Let’s not think about this question as condemning. Remember, there is no condemnation in Christ. Rather, let us think about it as a learning opportunity that gives greater insights for moving forward. From those same goals, write down what has caused you to wither. What has robbed you of spiritual fruit? Learn from those circumstances and repent.

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

—James 5:16 (NLT)

Principle 3:

Ask, “What needs to change?”

The transformation will come when we hear the Spirit’s discerning voice reveal what needs to change. To move forward after repentance, and to prepare for victory in spiritual warfare, cancel any voice that is blaming others for your circumstances. Release forgiveness.

We live in seedtime and harvest. You will reap what you sow. The power of the Holy Spirit within you needs to take control of your mind, will, and emotions. This restores the temple. Make a choice to walk in alignment and forgiveness for victory.

Know What Blocks You from Victory in Spiritual Warfare

If you are experiencing a roadblock on your journey to victory in spiritual warfare, ask yourself…

  • “Am I offended by someone or something?”
  • “Am I blaming others or my circumstances?”
  • “Am I taking responsibility for my actions?”
  • “Am I walking in unforgiveness?”

Every day, we have a choice to put on God’s armor to quench the enemy’s fiery darts before they penetrate our lives. Is it easy? No. Will there be moments of failure? Yes. However, the more we lean into God, accepting His victory that has already been won, the more our victory in spiritual warfare will be manifested.

Pause and repent as soon as you walk in agreement with the enemy rather than with the Lord. Choose to forgive and plead the blood of Yeshua as your covering. Then the accuser has nothing against you (see John 14:30).

Scriptures to Apply for Victory in Spiritual Warfare

Deuteronomy 30:19…

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”

Moses’ words inform us that we have a choice: life or death. He says, “therefore, choose life…” This reflects the heart of God. God wants us to choose life so that He is glorified through our obedience and we are blessed.

We have a choice to call Heaven to earth, to choose life or death. When we choose God and connect (vav) with the victory we have in Yeshua, we are preparing for our victory in spiritual warfare.

Deuteronomy 11:26-28…

“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.”

Obedience releases blessings, and disobedience brings a curse. Let us come out of agreement with any false gods and mindsets that keep us from experiencing victory in spiritual warfare.

A Prayer and Declaration for Victory in Spiritual Warfare

“Father God, I thank You for Your heart and the love You have for me. I come to you in the name of Jesus and decree and declare that by the power of the blood, victory has been won. I denounce and renounce any false gods or mindsets—known or unknown—in my heart, mind, and family line back to the garden. I come out of agreement with them, and cancel their influence on my life, in Yeshua’s name. I decree and declare complete victory in Christ Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for Your Word that restores. Thank You for cleansing and rebuilding the temple of the Holy Spirit in me, bringing Heaven to earth. I praise You for completing what you start, in Yeshua’s name, amen.”

The enemy never calls a ceasefire, but you can find your rest in the Lord. As you journey from Egypt to the Mountain of the Lord, remember it is He who empowers you, a remnant warrior, for complete victory!
