Join Pastor Tim Alsbaugh this Shabbat for a special Simchat Torah message celebrating the joy of God’s Word and its power to transform the way we live, learn, and speak.
WHAT IS SIMCHAT TORAH?
- Simchat Torah means “Joy of the Torah.” It follows the seven days of Sukkot and is a joyful celebration of God’s Torah—His teaching and instruction.
- It marks the completion of the annual Torah reading cycle and the immediate beginning of a new one moving from the end of Deuteronomy back to Genesis.
- For Believers, it is also a time to celebrate Yeshua, the Living Word and renew our desire to learn, live, and speak God’s truth.
Yeshua is the Living Word and the source of living water. In John 7:37–38, He declares, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”
When we come to Him with teachable hearts, His truth doesn’t simply give us knowledge—it changes what flows from within us.
In John 8, we see Yeshua demonstrate the power of His words when religious leaders bring before Him a woman caught in adultery. While others were ready to condemn, Yeshua responded with wisdom, truth, and mercy. His words exposed hearts, extended grace, and called the woman into a transformed life.
This Shabbat, discover how the Word of God can shape not only what you believe, but how you respond and what you speak.
Discover how to:
- Receive from Yeshua, the Living Word
- Remain teachable and allow God’s truth to transform you
- Guard your mouth so your words produce life rather than blessing and cursing from the same source
- Allow what God places within you to flow outward as living water
“Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” —James 3:10
As we celebrate Simchat Torah—the joy of the Torah— let us come back to the Word with hungry hearts, receive from the Living Water, and allow His truth to transform what flows from us.
