Decisiveness…A Gift of Sound Mind!

Decisiveness is the ability to make decision quickly and effectively. The Godly Strength of decisiveness has been given in order that you may lead, and be clear-minded and focused for God’s Kingdom. You are like a tree planted by the water, continuously looking to God for nourishment and guidance. Give praise to God for this amazing character!

What does God say about decisiveness…?

• “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”─1 Corinthians 14:33
• “He shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”─Psalm 1:3
• “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”─James 1:6-8

God has given you a firm foundation. You do not waiver and are not double-minded. God instructs you to continuously seek His guidance with this amazing gift. Being diligent in studying God’s Word so that you continue to make sound and good decisions.

Decisiveness is not…

It is clear in scripture that a person who struggles with double-mindedness, who says one thing and does another, struggles with making sound decisions. If you find your decisiveness drifting away from God’s Word, guard your thoughts, as you could become double-minded. It may be tempting, as your decisions produce good fruit, to set your time with God aside. However, it is even more important that you seek Him, as the devil is prowling around, looking for ways to devour and distract you from your firm foundation of truth.

Be encouraged…

God makes a powerful promise to those who possess the gift of decisiveness and take action in it. He promises that “whatever you do shall prosper.” He also makes a decree that your ways are stable, producing good fruit, and that your faith will grow strong. What a great gift!

Prayer…

We want to pray with you! Our prayer for you is that you seek God in all decisions, studying His Word, and thus, strengthening this amazing gift. May the Lord use this gift to sustain your faith, to cast away doubt, and to rest in His promises. Ask the Lord to use this gift to build up His Kingdom, pointing others to Jesus and making sound decisions for His Church. Give Him thanks for the sound truth He provides in His Word as a way to guide all decisions.
