How to Battle in Prayer for Israel

In a time of increasing division and deception, the headlines regarding Israel often feel heavy, confusing, and even contradictory. But for Believers, the current climate is more than a news cycle—it is a spiritual war. We are witnessing a clear attempt by the enemy to sow deception and turn nations against God’s purpose. What’s happening is not a surprise–it’s prophesied.

We are not called to be passive observers; we are called to be watchmen on the wall. This is a critical hour to move beyond fear, engage in discernment, and align our hearts and prayers with God’s unwavering purpose for Israel. Are you ready to stand in the gap and intercede with intention? 

How the Enemy Is Working & How You Can Respond

The enemy is at work, as he always has been, bringing division, manipulation, propaganda, and deception to turn people against the Jewish state. We have witnessed antisemitism increase in boldness, exposing Satan’s rage against God’s holy covenant and plan of redemption. 

As Believers, we need to know the truth about Israel and God’s continued purpose through the Jewish people, especially in these last days. We need to understand the long-waged propaganda war against Israel, its society, and its very existence. We need to practice discernment in the headlines we see and ask ourselves: 

• Is the framing of this headline and narrative in alignment with God’s Word… 
• Or Satan’s attempt to delegitimize the land and people who birthed his downfall?

How to Battle in Prayer for Israel

1. Understand Our Call to Be the Watchmen on the Wall

God expects His people to be awake and alert to the hour we are in. We’re called to be watchmen on the wall, as Ezekiel 33:6-7 declares…

• “‘But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’ “‘So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.’”

From these verses, we understand that the watchmen have a responsibility to be alert and engaged. Seek the Holy Spirit for how He is calling you to be further equipped regarding the truth about Israel…

• Do you need more grounding in true biblical prophecy?
• Is He inviting you to go to Israel and see it for yourself?
• Is He calling you to have productive conversations with people in your church community about the importance of Israel, and how to support her people?
• Is He calling you to sow into ministries that are blessing Israelis with the gospel of Yeshua, inviting Jewish and Arab hearts to come home to Messiah?

As you seek truth with a genuine heart, you will find it. God will equip you and send you. His Holy Spirit in you will lead you. As a watchman, you are not alone! 

2. Do Not Fear and Do Not Remain Silent

We do not need to fear, but boldly proclaim the truth that God loves and stands with Zion. We must shed light on the truth about Israel, her society, and how her rebirth fulfills biblical prophecy. We must warn others of the dangers of aligning with lies.

We cannot be silenced by fear. 

God is calling Believers everywhere to take a stand, to speak the truth in love, and to step into their assignment to be watchmen and intercessors for Israel and the nations. 

Ask yourself…

• What would happen if every Believer started praying for Israel’s protection, deliverance, and salvation?

• What would happen if every Believer honored the root of their faith with a humble and curious heart posture towards Israel and her people?   

God’s plan and purpose will move forward regardless of our participation and partnership, but there is great joy and blessing when we choose to say yes to His invitation.

3. Start Praying with Intention

As you go to the Father in prayer, here are some prayer points to keep in mind:

• Emotional and spiritual restoration: The war has taken a significant toll spiritually and emotionally on all Israelis. Please ask for God’s protective covering over their hearts and minds. (Jeremiah 8:22, Psalm 147:3).
• Supernatural love in the face of hatred: There is an intense wave of antisemitism currently targeting Israel and the Jewish community. Please pray against this spirit of hostility in all its manifestations. Ask that both Jewish and Arab people would encounter the profound, eternal love of Yeshua (Jeremiah 31:3).
• Salvation and reconciliation: Pray for Jewish people to discover Yeshua as their long-awaited Messiah. Lift up the Arab and Muslim populations, asking for divine encounters and dreams that lead to salvation. God is at work in the Middle East, transforming hearts and demonstrating that love is more powerful than hatred (Romans 10:1, Romans 11:26, Acts 4:12, Proverbs 10:12).
• Guidance for Israeli leadership: Ask God to grant Israel’s leaders clear discernment and wisdom. Pray that they are guided not by the pressures of the world, but by God’s truth and His Kingdom purpose for this nation (Proverbs 1:5, Joshua 24:15).
