There is Power in His Love

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.’ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”—Romans 8.35-39

In these five powerful verses, the Apostle Paul eloquently places a seal on the reality of God’s love and devotion for His people as he boldly applies God’s signet ring to the hot wax of the Gospel message…

The boundless power held within the Father’s love for each of us is the greatest revelation that mankind will ever know.

Have you ever struggled with the deep, heartfelt understanding of God’s immense love toward you? Maybe you understand the concept of His love in theory, but have never come in contact with that deep-rooted revelation in your heart and soul.

For some, the heartfelt realization of the Father’s love comes to them in an instantaneous revelation. That is wonderful! But for most, because of past hurts and disappointments, the reality of knowing the full magnitude of Father’s heart is an ongoing process.

As we continue in our Christian walk, the Father continues to reveal to us areas in our lives where we need to allow Him to lavish the healing power of His love. This is where a daily revelation of His love for us must be awakened in order for love of the Father to be freely poured out into the world.

C.S. LewisIt is just as important for today’s believer as it was for Paul and the early Church to realize the importance of knowing the heart of the Father. Knowing just how deep His love for us runs.

“For God so loved the word, that He gave His only Son…”—John 3.16

To realize the magnitude of the love that God holds for each of us should be the foundational revelation of all believers!

Once we understand that God’s love for us is immeasurable and inseparable—we then become more than conquerors through Him who loved us. We become aware that the power given to us through His Son is immeasurable.

A Christian life without the realization of the great magnitude of God’s love will result in a weak Christian—one with little authority, who is driven by a ‘works’ mentality—one who struggles to gain God’s love without realizing that it is ever before them.

The lack of a heartfelt realization of God’s love can be crippling. It can result in disallowing us to properly return love to our Father. How can we love if we do not first realize what true love is?

Many times as believers we become disillusioned and discouraged, and may even begin to backslide when the feelings are gone. This is when we must realize God’s love is eternal.

C.S. Lewis explained it this way: “On the whole, God’s love for us is a much safer subject to think about than our love for him. Nobody can always have devout C.S. Lewisfeelings… But the great thing to remember is that, though our feelings come and go, his love for us does not.”

As we begin to realize that absolutely nothing can separate us from God’s perfect love, the Church will become a complete and glorious army equipped with the power to preach the Gospel in the fullness that God intended her to have.

Only then will she absolutely know from the bottom of her heart that ‘neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!’

Father, we pray for a deeper revelation of the fullness of Your magnificent love to overtake our lives! Open our hearts to know You more, and create an undying hunger and thirst for more of You, O Lord. Give us the grace and wisdom to know how to walk with You by our side, as You continue to heal our hearts and lead us into the victory of enjoying Your love in it’s fullness, forever! In Yeshua’s Name.
