The Decree Over Our Spirit

In this Jubilee Year of Abundance, 5776, we focus both on the great things God is bringing to us, as well as the words that He has already left for us in scripture. We recently outlined what we call the Preparatory Decree, found in the book of Hosea. Today we take a closer look at a verse from Galatians we call the Decree Over Our Spirit.

“For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”

—Galatians 5:5

This is only a single sentence, but it is a powerful one. This verse is a reminder that the spirit within us is eagerly yearning for righteousness. It sends us a reminder that our very souls are gifts from God—a part of God Himself.

If we believe this to be true, then we must also believe that God wants to be released into our life to help guide us on the path of righteousness. We already have what we need inside of us to live such a lifestyle—but it’s up to us to actually take the steps necessary to achieve it.

This is known as the Decree Over Our Spirit (not OF our Spirit), because it is a reminder that we have control over unlocking that spirit and allowing it to guide us through our lives. We, through the spirit, are guided down the path of righteousness to draw us closer to our God.

We encourage you to pray this way as you meditate on this verse, the Decree Over Our Spirit:

“Father God, I come in agreement with the Holy Spirit who is eagerly awaiting me this day, that I would transfer my hope into my righteousness in Christ. By faith, I decree that 5776 is my Jubilee Year of Abundance and that the joy of the Lord is my strength! By faith, I lay hold of His righteousness in me, and all things shall be added to me. I have no lack! In Yeshua’s name… Amen!”

We hope that you continue to meditate on scripture and draw closer to God throughout this, your Jubilee Year of Abundance.
