The Courts of Heaven | Revealing the Mystery of Heaven’s Legal System
If you are new to the teaching of the Courts of Heaven, it may seem intimidating at first. But God never meant for His legal system to be unnerving. In fact, He says we can come boldly to His throne!
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”—Hebrews 4:16
But there are some principles and protocols we must first be aware of to release the spiritual freedom that the Courts of Heaven has waiting for the Church.
Why Enter the Courts of Heaven?
We enter the Courts of Heaven to confront the accuser and rightfully step into the divine calling that we are predestined for.
In the book of Job, we read that Satan brought a case to God about Job’s faithfulness. Satan accused Job of only being blameless and upright because of some feigned faith. Satan’s accusations were that Job’s sole reason to serve God was to “get” something in return. He based this accusation on Job’s great blessings.
“Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East.”—Job 1:3
Satan essentially wanted to block all the abundant blessing that God had in store for Job. And he does the same to you and others in the Body of Christ today. He brings cases against Believers to block us from coming into alignment with the destiny God has set for us.
In Revelation, God’s Word tells us something else about this heavenly legal system…
“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.’”—Revelation 12:10-12
We learned from Job that Satan walks to and fro on the earth. “And the Lord said to Satan, ‘From where do you come?’ So Satan answered the Lord and said, ‘From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.’”—Job 1:7
This sounds similar to what we read about the adversary in 1 Peter 5:8…
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
Satan has roamed the earth for thousands of years analyzing humanity’s behavior and bringing cases against us to God.
But never forget the mystery that has been revealed to the Body of Christ. We have the authority to enter into the Courts of Heaven and render a verdict in our favor. And it’s only because of the blood of Jesus.
How to Enter the Courts of Heaven
There are 3 keys to overcoming the accuser in the Courts of Heaven.
And they overcame him…
- By the blood of the Lamb
- By the word of their testimony
- They did not love their lives to the death

Courts of Heaven Protocol…
- Always present what Jesus did on the cross in the Court of Heaven.
- As you read in Revelation, this is one of the keys to silencing the accuser. Only by the blood shed on the cross by our Perfect Savior can we plead not guilty.
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”—John 8:36
- Use what is written in the books in Heaven, along with the prophetic words that have been spoken over you.
- What has been spoken over you? Do you know you are chosen and God delights in you? You are a child of the King!
“… and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”—Romans 8:17
- Use the promises of God’s Word.
- The word of your testimony is a spiritual weapon and legal truth that stands in the Courts of Heaven.
“… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”—Romans 10:9
- Whoever will lay their life down will gain great authority in the Courts of Heaven.
- Giving your life to the Good Shepherd empowers you to hear His voice, which holds great authority in the Courts of Heaven. His voice spoke the heavens and earth into existence and speaks for you now in Heaven’s court.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep… And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”—John 10:11, 16
What Is Released from the Courts of Heaven?
There is something we can do to access the legal realm of Heaven and activate the blood of Jesus.
“… and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin… If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”—1 John 1:7, 9
Confess…
Confessing means “to say the same as.” When you come before the Lord and come into agreement, it means that you believe and feel the same way about your transgressions as God does.
Repent…
Repentance is a change of mind. Though you cannot live a repentant life without the Holy Spirit, you can take every thought captive and turn it over to God, asking Him for the strength to change your mind, and He will also change your heart.
Forgive…
Unforgiveness only blocks blessings, but it can be overturned in the Courts of Heaven. This is why we must release our mind, will, and emotions over to God and come into agreement with the fact that we must “leave room for God” to set things right (see Romans 12:19). It is not our place, but God’s, to establish justice.
