Grow in Biblical Boldness…Because It’s Beautiful!

What does it mean to be bold? Boldness is defined as a willingness to take risks and act with innovation. To be confident and courageous. In boldness you are brave, determined and fearless. What a great gift! A gift that is paramount in God’s Kingdom!

Acting out of Biblical boldness is acting without concern of the consequences. If you possess this gift, you have put your trust in God, knowing He has prompted you with His Spirit, therefore you are fearless of the outcomes. You know God is in control.

What God says about boldness…

“For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech…”—2 Corinthians 3:11-12

Because of the glorious hope we have, we can speak boldly! Our relationship with God, because of Jesus’ work on the cross, allows us to come boldly before Him. He gives us the freedom to speak with boldness to others of this amazing grace.

Boldness is not…

If you are a naturally more reserved or timid person, can you still be bold for Christ? Yes, absolutely! Boldness is not about being uncomfortable and fearful to share the Good News. It’s about taking the feeling of fear, renouncing it, and asking God to replace it with His Bold Spirit. Step out in faith and ask God to make you bold for Him.

Being bold in your own strength leaves an open door for the enemy to tempt you with pride or fear. However, when you ask the Spirit to guide you in this courageous endeavor, He will equip you with His words.

If your natural self tends to be timid, and God has bestowed the desire for this gift, you are proof of this Godly character! Boldness can provide avenues to share Christ’s love in the work place, with a family member or a close friend, or even venturing across the globe to another country.

Be encouraged…

Encouraged

Even though the enemy will attempt to keep your words quiet through fear and doubt, God provides a way to be encouraged… through prayer. Paul writes to the Ephesians asking them to pray for boldness.

“Pray… for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel.”—Ephesians 6:19

As your gift of boldness grows, God will give you continued strength to move others toward the hope that is in Christ!
