What is Spiritual Warfare?
Just as God has a divine plan to make all things work together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28), the enemy also has a plan. However, his plan is not for you. It is to bring harm and destruction.
- “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”—1 Peter 5:8-9 (emphasis added)
Spiritual warfare is a battle between good and evil. The evil enemy uses fear, doubt, and unbelief to creep in and wreak havoc in nearly every area of your life: spiritual, physical, emotional, personal, and professional.

The enemy lies about who you are and God’s love for you. He wants to steal your inherited blessings as a child of God.
Your Inheritance…
- “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, why is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”—Ephesians 1:11-14
Satan’s agenda is that you will start to align with lies, believing them until they consume your mind, will, and emotions.
Good News… God Gives You a Weapon!
On the other hand, God also has a plan, one that is pure, full of truth, and restorative. God’s battle plan involves prayer, decreeing God’s Word, and resting in His covenant promises, just to name a few.
- “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”—Exodus 14:14
- “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation…”—Psalm 18:35
Fighting these battles on your own never works for long. We must operate within the will of God.
