Curt Landry Ministries’ Work with IDF
At Curt Landry Ministries, we believe that supporting the soldiers of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is one of the highest callings we have been given. Our team works to provide for these troops’ needs so that when they are away from their homes and families, defending the nation of Israel, they can rest assured that their loved ones have been properly taken care of.
Simply put, the forces of the IDF need your help.
The IDF is only able to provide so much when it comes to food and supplies for families in need, especially those families who desperately depend on the income they receive from the soldiers. When they serve, it is unfortunately common for them to have their monthly income severely cut, which means many families are only barely scraping by.
We work in coordination with the IDF and the City of Jerusalem to provide monthly food boxes for the soldiers and their families in need. This project has become especially important in recent years due to rising tensions in the Middle East, and thousands more soldiers enlisting and coming out of the reserves to serve.
Our program has been a tremendous blessing, both to us as people seeking to serve God’s chosen land, as well as the families in dire need of assistance. We provide boxes that contain things like pasta, rice, sauces, canned meats, canned vegetables, flour, sugar, coffee, oils and more—many of the essentials that these families simply cannot afford to purchase themselves. Each box is valued at about $125USD each. To make our dollars go even farther, we purchase these supplies from a local grocer, who has agreed to provide these donated goods at a discount. This means we are also supporting a local business owner.
In other cases, there are lone soldiers who have no family to go home to for fellowship or a home-cooked meal. Thanks to this program, they can get the groceries and fellowship they need. The City of Jerusalem provides the kitchen and dining area, and we provide the food.
This has been a tremendous partnership over the years, and one that we very much look forward to continuing long into the future.
