You Have Not Because You Ask Not

James 4:3 says, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” One of the reasons people don’t ask is because they would rather spend that time on their own pleasures. This could be rooted in fear of rejection. They think, “I’ve asked before and didn’t receive. I don’t want to be disappointed or rejected again, so I just won’t ask.”

However, could it be that fear of rejection or disappointment set in because we don’t realize that sowing seeds according to God’s calendar is a powerful breakthrough tool?

We are about to celebrate Shavuot, the second annual pilgrim feast, when we are to bring an offering to the Lord. If you sow according to God’s calendar and with a cheerful heart, it will break the assignment of rejection, and you will experience breakthroughs in new and powerful ways.

Breakthroughs Are Blocked

Many of you want peace in this season. With so much chaos and confusion in the world, finding peace has become the pursuit.

However, a lack of knowledge blocks the breakthrough of peace in our lives. The Bible says we perish for lack of knowledge. Lack of knowledge opens the door for rejection to enter in.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

Hosea 4:6

As we continue to follow biblical instruction, we can be confident and expect God to move in every situation.

So then, as you prepare your heart for Shavuot, prepare to sow your seed by faith and A.C.T.

How to A.C.T in Faith for a Breakthrough

A—Apply Isaiah 56:7…

C—Change According to 2 Corinthians 9:6-7…

T—Be Transformed According to Proverbs 10:22…

  • “Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

The Lord wants us to be joyful in His house of prayer. He will accept our offerings because He wants His house to be a house of prayer for all the nations. For Jews and Gentiles to give during this season speaks to the spiritual realm that we are coming together as One New Man as we enter the house of prayer for all the nations.

  • “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

It is time we come out of agreement with fearfear of lack and fear of rejection. When we sow according to God’s Word, we will reap bountifully. Cheerful and bountiful giving releases breakthroughs in the spiritual realm.

  • “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”

When you remember that the Lord’s blessings make you rich, and you acknowledge all you have is from Him, there is no room for sorrow in your heart. He wants you to enjoy what you have and give Him thanks for releasing it to you.

During This Season of Harvest Time and Breakthroughs…

We must remember Deuteronomy 8:18-20…

  • “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish. As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God.”

There is value in aligning your finances with God’s calendar. When you do the natural, God does the supernatural. Remember, it is God who gives you power to get wealth. He wants to establish His covenant with you.

Will you faithfully sow during this season and expect a bountiful harvest in the next?
