The Mystery of Biblical Authority and Finance

Understanding biblical authority and finance is critical in this hour because of what the Lord is doing right now. He is releasing biblical authority and transferring wealth. These two biblical principles walk hand-in-hand.

Therefore, understanding how biblical authority and biblical finance interact and work together is critical so that you can know how and when to sow a seed that will position you and your family for financial, physical, and spiritual favor.

Biblical Authority, Promotion, and Advancement

When you operate your finances with biblical authority and principles, it opens the doors of Heaven. It positions you for promotion and advancement in the physical and spiritual.

Now, a key to walking in biblical authority is to structure your finances according to God’s design.

Before we dig deeper into what structuring your finances according to God’s design looks like, let’s understand the times we are in…

We are in a biblical decade of the 80’s (just entering biblical year 5782). The number 8 in Hebrew is associated with the letter “pey,” which means mouth or to speak. The Lord is purifying our words so that our actions and deeds will follow. He is aligning us to His will and Word so that we can take biblical authority—through His power and strength, not ours—in this decade.

How is the Lord Aligning Us for Biblical Authority?

The Lord is aligning us for biblical authority by speaking to us more and more about…

  • The appointed times of His feasts
  • Observing and honoring Him and the feasts
  • Covenant restoration

He is speaking to us about how we spend our resources—time, tasks, activities, and finances—inviting us to partner with Him, blessing Him and others. As a result, we will have covenant revelation.

A Prophetic Word for Biblical Authority

Malachi 3 is a prophetic word for us today…

“‘Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

—Malachi 3:1

This “suddenly” message is the message of the covenant, of the One New Man. It is a revelation that Gentile Believers are grafted-in to Israel…

“having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,”

—Ephesians 2:15 (emphasis added)

This prophetic word tells us—the One New Man—how to persevere, endure, and be purified as born-again Believers. It tells us how to take biblical authority in the world we live in today.

“‘But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to the Lord, as in the days of old, as in former years.’”

—Malachi 3:2-4 (emphasis added)

The “offerings” referred to are the feast offerings. These are offerings made during Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot. The offerings of “Judah and Jerusalem” are those of the priesthood (Judah) and the government (Jerusalem).

There will be a king-priest anointing that comes (the One New Man in Christ), and then offerings would be restored.

The Word goes on to say judgment is coming, but there is hope for those who are found in Him, who are grafted into Israel.

“‘And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, and against those who turn away an alien—because they do not fear Me,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.’”

—Malachi 3:5

We are in a season when the Lord is judging. Judgment will be released, but because the Lord does not change, we are not consumed. When our hearts are circumcised, and we are born again in Jesus, we have peace!

Biblical Authority | Structuring Your Finances According to God’s Design

Here is the final prophetic word about biblical authority…

“‘Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. ‘But you said, “In what way shall we return?” Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, “In what way have we robbed You?” In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.’”

Malachi 3:7-10 (emphasis added)

As a born-again Believer, we have an inheritance. The Lord is in the business of restoring what has been lost and equipping us to reclaim what has been stolen. He wants to release abundance upon us so that we can walk with biblical authority in this hour! But we must do something to activate the biblical authority…

He is calling us to return to Him—and it starts with tithes and offerings.

In Hebrew, the word for return is “t’shuvá.” When we fail to return, or turn to Him, and honor His appointed times and ways of operation, we are considered God-robbers.

In other words, when we do not sow a seed of a tithe or offering in the Courts of Heaven, the accuser of the brethren calls us a God-robber.

Let us silence the accuser by bringing a special offering during God’s appointed times: Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot. These are opportunities on God’s divine calendar to align our finances with Him. Malachi 3:11-12 says that as a result, He will protect us by rebuking the devourer so that our fruit is not destroyed, and we will have an abundant harvest. We will be called blessed and be a delight to others!

In Conclusion…

Let us understand how to walk with biblical authority in this next season. Ask the Spirit to move you for what moves His heart. Return to Him. Ask Him where you need to give back and sow a seed so that you can reclaim what has been stolen and receive the necessary provision and protection in your Kingdom promotion.
