CHARACTERISTICS OF A COVENANT PARTNER: THE POWER OF COVENANT PRAYER (8)
As the Body of Christ grows in knowledge of covenant power and spiritual warfare, the enemy uses more tactics to redirect our focus from God’s divine plan. To guard our hearts and homes, and fight the good fight of faith, we must properly prepare.
Reflected in Ephesians 6, prayer activates and completes the armor of God…
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavily places… praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…”—Ephesians 6:12, 18
Did you know you have authority and power in Christ?
Again and again in the Bible, God mentions that we have power and authority against the powers of darkness. Are you walking in this power?
The armor of God is taught and known to many Believers, but I want to take you one step further in revelation. When looking at God’s Word about prayer, He commands us to pray for Jerusalem… Why? Because Jerusalem has a very specific and divine destiny in God’s plan.
How are you like Jerusalem? Jerusalem is a place referred to in scripture as:
- City of Peace
- City of Joy
- City of Praise
- Holy City
The enemy is actively trying to steal this identify away from both Jerusalem and you. It is time we stand in unified prayer, and protect and proclaim what has been given to us and pray intercessory prayer for God’s City. You have the authority in Christ!
How is the enemy attacking you?
Is there confusion, fear, doubt and unbelief in your mind, home and relationships? We must learn intercessory prayer, sowing and reaping the Word.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.’”—Psalm 122:6-7
Jesus said if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, we still have power to move mountains. What mountains are blocking you? Release prosperity and peace in your life, getting to the root of powerful prayer.
Step into Covenant Prayer
To purposefully pray for Jerusalem, sowing and reaping the Word, there are some steps to take:
- There must be unity. Allow the Spirit to wash over you, revealing any wrongdoing that may impact relationships, thus leading you to repentance.
- Prayer of repentance. When the Spirit shows you any fear or doubt within your heart; ask Him for the power to cancel those assignments, and ask for forgiveness of unbelief.
- Pray for Jerusalem. Pray God’s promises over Israel, asking Him to remember His promises. Not that He has forgotten, but to proclaim your partnership with Him, to stand against the enemy’s schemes and to stand with God’s Chosen forever.
- Wait upon the Lord in His promise. God cannot lie. Therefore, you can trust, He will bless you in His perfect timing.
As you pray for the nation of Israel in Yeshua’s name, may peace be within you. You ARE the temple of the Holy Spirit. God has entrusted you with His Spirit and His power. May He bring joy, peace and hope into your home, and bless the work of your hands.
