Characteristics of a Covenant Partner: The Powerful Revelation of the Covenant (1)

The power and purpose of the covenant is to enable us to walk in the fullness of our salvation. Our joy is only as good as understanding faith and trust in Covenant Partnership. While we are restored to the Father when we repent and accept Yeshua as Messiah, the fullness of the covenant is something that is revealed to us, over time, through the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.

“Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”—1 Peter 2:1-3

There has been recent upsurge in Christian Believers desiring to understand the Jewish roots of their faith. We cannot deny the historical significant of our spiritual forefathers. There is much knowledge and fullness that comes when seeking our faith’s historical roots.

God’s will through the covenant.

God wants to demonstrate His sovereign power across all nations. He invites us to work with Him, to be a committed Covenant Partner. When we walk in submission and understand the power of the covenant, His call for us becomes great—bigger than anything we could ever image. He does things we could never do on our own. Only through His strength can we effectively perform His Word and bring about the fulfillment of prophecy.

We must be extremely careful and seek God’s wisdom as we begin to engage in our Father’s work. As we know, the enemy is prowling around, looking for a way to distract and destroy our Covenant Partnership with God. Prayerfully guard your relationship with the Lord, not to be consumed with prospering or simply surviving. Instead, seek and submit to His will, and He will prepare you to subdue the nations.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”—Matthew 6:33

A prayer of revelation of impartation.

Do you know that you have been imparted (granted or credited) righteousness? Are you walking in this revelation? When the scales have fallen off your eyes and you truly understand the power of this impartation, it cuts to your heart, and overtakes your mind.

“…and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.”—Romans 2:29

My prayer for you is that we not walk infirmed, blinded and crippled. That we can immediately stand up and see… awakened in our Covenant Partnership with God! This may seem confusing, but we know who the author of confusion is… and the part that saddens my heart is that there has been much disturbance of the truth.

When we don’t understand the depth of the Covenant Partnership and the promises it holds, we are walking blindly and are literally cut off from the source. We have been grafted into the family of God, through Christ… this relationship holds power. It’s time that we come to understand the magnitude of the partnership!

Unfortunately, some have said it is about legalism when we step out in faith and back into the foundations of our faith. This is far from a strict adherence to the law, this is all about a deeper understanding and intimacy with our God.

Just as the crippled woman who was healed on the Shabbat, she immediately stood up because of her faith in covenant relationship, she stood up and praised God!  The covenant is what has the power to straighten up our lives. God cannot lie; therefore, He will not break His covenant promises with Jew or Gentile.

This battle over Jew and Gentile is a diabolical plot from Satan to separate the Gentiles from their Covenant Partnership so that they cannot stand straight and glorify God. If you don’t know your roots, the truth of who you are, you cannot help but begin to behave like those around you. Instead, understand you have been separated, set apart for God’s perfect purpose.

Yeshua was sent to the house of Israel first.

Usually confusion brings about selfishness. This is how you know it’s from the enemy. Therefore, we must use Godly wisdom to stand with the nation of Israel. Danger lies when Covenant Partnership is not understood.

God knows how we walked in selfishness and disobedience. He set Israel apart to be a representative of His loving kindness and mercy to the nations, and He blessed them. There is an order to things, as God is a God of order, not disorder. Yeshua was sent to the house of Israel first.

If we do not understand this important revelation of the covenant, we overlook much of what God says in His Word and covenant blessing is voided. This is ultimately important as we read and mediate on what Yeshua says to the Gentile women in Matthew 15.

“But He answered and said, ‘I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’”—Matthew 15:24

This may sound confusing or harsh, but the Messiah in fact spoke these words. He did this to make it clear that there was and is an unbreakable covenant God has made with Israel. From that, we might ALL come together to worship Him.

The falseness of replacement theology.

Replacement theology misleads the Church, teaching that the Christian Church has replaced Israel in God’s plan and that God has essentially forgotten His chosen people. Have you been taught this and noticed its discrepancy with scripture?

God clearly lays out the falseness in this teaching.

“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.  God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew…”—Romans 11:1-2

Just as God is not done with you, but is “growing you in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” He is not done with Israel. Are you thankful He did not leave you in your past? I certainly am! He has the same intentions for His people.

 Covenant restoration is a mystery.

“For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.”—Romans 11:25

There is a mystery about this Covenant Partnership between God and you. There is more than grace in the relationship. Grace is the favor to engage in belief covenant. God wants to directly plug you into His power through Covenant Partnership!

Don’t be mistaken that the relationship is just about faith or grace. Because what happens when you don’t have faith, or don’t have grace? Does the covenant fail? Of course not! It cannot fail, because God cannot lie.

We praise Him because we have Covenant Partnership with Him. The blood is covenant, not grace. Grace doesn’t overcome the world… the blood of Yeshua, the Messiah, does.

Covenant enforcement.

“… that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ… having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.”—Ephesians 2:12-13,15

By the blood of Yeshua, a legal transaction has occurred that cannot be denied. As a result, we are grafted together, in Christ, as

One New Man.

We are in the end times, the Third Day, and God is going to finish and uphold His promises, both to Jew and Gentile, the coming together of the Church of Messiah. Israel is the natural children of Abraham, and the Church is the adopted, both taking part in God’s divine family. He will make the two into one new man.

There is a power being released in the Church and every adversary will be put to shame. Yeshua Himself says, “Stand up! Be loosed from what the enemy has bound you!” Are you not sons and daughters of Abraham? Don’t we all battle being bound by Satan? Rise up and enforce the power of the covenant.

Covenant Partnership is deeper than hope, faith, love and grace…. It’s a legal binding agreement. The good news is that God cannot and will not break His promise. If it depends on us, it will fail, we will never have enough hope, faith or love, but God cannot fail. We are truly sons and daughters of Abraham. The time has come to rise up, enforce the power of the covenant, and accept the blessing of being the children of Abraham
