Israel Faces Yet Another Terrorist Attack
On June 30th, Israel faced yet another terrorist attack when thirteen-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel was brutally murdered. The Jerusalem Post reported that same day:
“A security source compared the murder to that of Dafna Meir, a mother of six who was stabbed to death in front of her teenage daughter inside their home in the West Bank settlement of Otniel in January.
“The source feared that this murder was a direct imitation of that attack, and said successes such as these permeate into Palestinian villages and onto social media. It creates a desire and the courage to then go out to commit similar atrocities, they said.
“The assessments have concluded so far that the attack was planned, and the terrorist chose the Ariel home specifically because it was relatively isolated within the settlement. According to their understanding, had the security forces not identified his presence, he would have gone on to commit further killings, rather than escape, as Dafna Meir’s murderer Morad Bader Abdallah Adis had done.”
It is during troubling times like these, that the Nation of Israel needs the prayers and support of Believers across the globe. These types of atrocities happen so frequently in Israel, that many have asked us if the Jewish state has become numbed to it. But we can tell you that brutality like this never gets easier. It is always devastating.
At Curt Landry Ministries we mourn the loss of Hallel Yaffa Ariel. We pray for her family left behind after this life-changing trauma.
We pray for the nation of Israel as they grieve for yet another young person whose life has been snuffed out long before their potential could fully be realized. We pray that nations would continue to rise and surround Israel with love and support during this tumultuous time.
And we pray for the enemies of Israel, too. It is hard to fathom the reason why a 19-year-old boy would commit such a horrendous crime. We pray that the love of the Father would continue to melt the stony hearts of those who hate the Jewish people. We ask for their hearts to be rescued out of the pit of hatred and violence, and that they would recognize the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as the one true God.
