Is the Gospel Good News?

There is so much in the media today where people are trying to refute the good news of the Gospel.

As Believers, we know that we are in a spiritual battle of good against evil—one where the enemy of Father God, Satan, is seeking to destroy God’s children.

Have statements like these ever frightened you? Do you struggle with understanding how you can live victoriously in a world that seems to oppose you?

You know Jesus was no stranger to opposition. His entire life was lived literally fulfilling the very words of the early prophets. Yet, so many of His generation chose to ignore and despise Him.

So, how is this message Good News?

Before Jesus died on the cross He stood in synagogue and read from Isaiah 61:

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and commissioned me to bring good news to the humble and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up [the wounds of] the brokenhearted, to proclaim release [from confinement and condemnation] to the [physical and spiritual] captives and freedom to prisoners.

“To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance and retribution of our God, to comfort all who mourn.

“To grant to those who mourn in Zion the following: to give them a turban instead of dust [on their heads, a sign of mourning], the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. To they will be called the trees of righteousness [strong and magnificent, distinguished for integrity, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

—Isaiah 61:1-3 (AMP)

Jesus was literally standing before mankind and saying, “The promise Isaiah spoke about, the Messiah, has finally arrived.” Yet, many could not see Him for who He really was—the promised Savior of us all.

Have you experienced discouragement as you shared the Good News of the Gospel? Have you even wondered if possibly the naysayers were right?

What the ancient prophets spoke of is coming to life…

Just recently in the news something incredible happened. You may have missed it, but its impact was extremely important, nonetheless.

United States President, Donald Trump recently chose to recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel. Why is this important to me as a Believer? It is important because it is an extremely bold statement against hostile opposition to acknowledge Israel’s right to statehood and beyond.

“Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up and restore the former desolations; and they will renew the ruined cities, the desolations (deserted settlements) of many generations.

“Strangers will stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers.

“But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; people will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of nations, and you will boast of their riches.

“Instead of your [former] shame you will have a double portion; and instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited]; everlasting joy will be theirs.

“For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery with a burnt offering. And I will faithfully reward them, and make an everlasting covenant with them.

“Then their offspring will be known among the nations, and their descendants among the peoples. All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge them that they are the people whom the Lord has blessed.

“I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has covered me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom puts on a turban, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

“For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the Lord God will [most certainly] cause righteousness and justice and praise to spring up before all the nations [through the power of His Word].”

—Isaiah 61:4-11 (AMP)

Sunset over Israel, a reflection of the biblical cause and effect.

Restoration is coming for the nation of Israel…

God is restoring all that has been stolen from the Jewish people. As the United States of American continues to stand with Israel, we are expecting GREAT things. It is no minor thing for the state of Israel to be given the right to name the location of their capital city. What might seem like a minor thing to us is a moment in history that has taken hundreds, even thousands of years to achieve.

Just like Yeshua stood before the people of His day decreeing the good news of the Gospel, while experiencing the pain of rejection, we too have witnessed many who do not understand the signs of the times. Still, at Curt Landry Ministries we take the Word of God literally. We believe that when God spoke to Abraham stating that those who blessed the nation of Israel would be blessed, and those who cursed the nation of Israel would be cursed… well, we don’t take that statement lightly. What God said then, is true today.

This is why we continue to celebrate. Biblical prophecy is literally being fulfilled before our very eyes. The Gospel truly is GOOD NEWS! Isaiah 61 seems to almost be pulled directly from recent headlines, and the restoration of Israel is in sight like never before.

Despite the rejection of the past, so many things are coming full circle and we just cannot help but sing the praises of the one true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!

What an exciting time to be alive! What an incredible moment in history! The good news of the Gospel will be performed. Yeshua, first came to us as a small baby, but He will return to us once again. This time… He comes as the Bride Groom. Will you recognize Him? Will you see Him coming in the clouds?
