Immersion, Water, and the Miracles of God | Part 2

In Hebraic thought, water was used to represent life, transformation, rebirth, and refreshment. As Believers, we are immersed in water with the understanding that God uses a physical element to represent a spiritual transformation.

Water purifies your soul, making room for the promotion and transformation you are about to experience. Just as Jesus was immersed in water (or baptized) before He began His ministry, God wants to refresh your soul and prepare your heart for your Kingdom assignment in the water.

In the last blog, we looked at four of seven miracles of God related to water (click HERE to read) and what they mean for you…

  • Healing and revelation
  • Transformation
  • Walking and authority
  • Provision

Now we will continue our discovery with the final three of the seven miracles of God related to water. Then you can be immersed in water with a new mindset of miracles!

Three More Miracles of God Related to Water…

5. Dividing Evil and Good Miracle of God

  • “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.’ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

“And God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.’”

“‘And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.’”—Genesis 6:5-8, 13, 17-18

What This Means for You…

Water can destroy life and bring life. Being immersed in water revives those who found grace in the eyes of the Lord. How do you find grace? Through the blood of Jesus. Because of the blood, God’s mercy and grace protect you.

Noah did two things. He did not come into agreement the with the evil that surrounded him. Rather, he agreed and “walked with God.” He responded to God in obedience and love. As a result, he and his family were spared. The water provided a new start for Noah rather than destruction experienced by the world. What an act of mercy from our Father!

6. Providing a Way Miracle of God

  • “And Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.’

“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord…’”—Exodus 14:13-18

What This Mean for You…

As mentioned, water brings life and destroys life. Being immersed in the water provides clarity, revelation, and “dry ground in the midst of the sea.”

In other words, when your enemy is attacking and the sea of life is raging, God releases miracles in the water.

The Israelites were terrified. They didn’t know how God would save them in what seemed to be an impossible situation. Yet Moses spoke. He told them that they would never see these Egyptians again. How could this be?

They witnessed the parting of the water. They went through the water and were saved. The Egyptians (representing slavery) were immersed in the water and destroyed.

Being immersed in the water breaks the chains of slavery and places you on solid ground.

7. Promotion into Your Kingdom Assignment Miracle of God

  • “Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?’

“But Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then he allowed Him.

“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.  And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’”—Matthew 3:13-17

What This Means for You…

Jesus was immersed in the water as a sign of obedience to the Father. However, when you read this passage through Hebraic lenses, a mystery is revealed. Water immersion was a symbol of purification, revival, and rebirth. This is why we are baptized when we are saved, signifying the old has been destroyed, and the new is born.

But Jesus was sinless, so this must mean something else. Being immersed in the water promotes you into your Kingdom assignment.

After Jesus was immersed, He began His ministry, which changed the world. That is why He came. This was His destiny.

The Spirit descended upon Him, empowering Him to quench every fiery dart that the enemy threw at Him.

The Takeaway

The Lord wants you to experience the same empowerment, healing, and miracles. Being immersed in the water prepares, promotes, and propels you into your destiny. Immersion releases miracles.
