Illuminations | How Faith Grows

Faith grows when we activate the power of dominion that is given to us by way of the Holy Spirit. Activating the fruits of the Spirit grows our faith. There are direct connections and divine order between the fruit, action, and your God-ordained destiny.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23

>>>How can I grow my faith overnight?<<<

The question of how to grow faith is asked by Believers everywhere. People might say that your faith or your trust in God, needs to grow more. But phrases like these have become so common among modern-day Believers that at times they are mere words spoken or read, void of the original depth they once carried. There can be a missing link of how to apply these biblical principles. This void has left Believers empty and searching, wondering if they will ever be able to hold the faith that can move mountains.

“So Jesus said to them, ‘Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’”

Matthew 17:20

There are some basic principles to multiplying your faith.

God doesn’t stop with the basics. Faith is a process of growth that never ends. If we are open and willing to grow in our faith, then God will take us deeper into the knowledge and belief in Him, therefore drawing us into His presence. This deeper understanding places us on the path of our destiny. The growth process He performs in you then multiplies through you… ultimately touching the lives of those around you.

How does God define faith?

  • “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”—Hebrews 11:1

God’s Word reveals even more about the relationship we have with Him through faith.

  • “Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’”—Mark 9:24
  • “Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”—1 John 5:5
  • “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”—Luke 10:19

Through faith, you have dominion and authority! It is time you embrace this truth! Want to understand the roots of your faith better? Sign up for our daily devotionals, Powerpoints.

Can He use storms to grow our faith?

Absolutely! God brings out the beauty in the times of a storm. During those painful times, you may wonder if God is real, where He is, and how to believe. But these are the precise moments of teaching.

“…to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Isaiah 61:3

God has to take you out of your comfort zone into the refining fire so that you are ready for your call and purpose. All must be purified to be multiplied. This process is all part of the faith growing!

How Pride Leads to Downfall…

Scripture says pride comes with disgrace. Far too often, we fall into a number of traps that lead into the hands of pride. Have you ever thought:

  • I know the plans God has for me. Therefore, I don’t need to keep seeking His guidance throughout the plan.
  • I’m not sure He will provide, so I need to take this into my own hands.
  • I doubt God has divine plans for me. I don’t have any characteristics He can use.

All of these reasons are denying the power of God within you. Pride leads to downfall because it is a roadblock on our path to our God-ordained destiny. We end up sidetracked, lost, confused, doubting and searching.

God wants to redeem you from this place of darkness. He wants to cleanse this out, breaking it up, so His light shines through. Don’t get stuck in thinking God doesn’t have a destiny for you during times of trial.

>>>Listen to the compelling testimony of Paul Marcellino and how God used a storm to fulfill His divine plan and purpose!<<<

God wastes nothing. He wants to use all of your circumstances for His glory—to bless you. You are in a ministry whatever your role is right now: mom, dad, young, old, brother, or sister. Whatever it is, God wants you to be His voice to those who are lost.

The same dominion that walked on water is in you. In John 6, Jesus asked Philip to bring only a small amount to Him, and He would multiply it.

“So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, ‘Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.’”

John 6:12

Trust God with what you have. Surrender it fully with faith. He will not disappoint, and not one crumb will be wasted! Whether it’s a season of lack or a season of plenty, you can always be victorious in Christ.

>>>Don’t Simply Grow Your Faith, Multiply It!<<<

We can be full of pride in life, but we can conquer it. Have you gotten off the path of God? He is bringing you to a place at the end of yourself where you must surrender all to Him so He can heal you and put you back together.

He will lift you up and will speak blessings into your life. He will multiply the blessings as they overflow into all those you are around. You will have a pleasant aroma and a beautiful anointing, and will feed the thousands!

“For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.”

2 Corinthians 2:15

Repentance is a Gift from God.

Does your spiritual growth seem to be halted? When doubt, pride, and fear start to seep into the life of Believers, it places a barrier in the relational flow between God and you. How do you breakdown this blockade? The answer is… through sincere repentance.

“…in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”

—2 Timothy 2:25-26

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 1:9

As we repent and return to Him with a humble and pure heart, especially in the midst of a storm, He begins the restoration process of placing us back on the path He designed for us, and we are free from burden. He washes away the lies of the enemy and sets faith back in our heart.

When surrender is a victory.

Repentance leads to surrender. Surrender that has chain-breaking power! Surrendering your emotions to God and asking for realignment rings in victory! Take that leap of faith. Lay it at all at His feet and watch in wonder as He takes all the broken pieces and restores them to come together eloquently so that you may walk in your purpose.
