As we had discussed in the first part of our series, Health, Stress and the Bible, we examined how stress impacts us not only spiritually, but also physically. In answering the call to care for our bodies, because they are the temples of the living God, a step further, we look at the relationship health has on our finances.
The truth is, when we have more income, we are able to purchase higher quality foods. While making health a greater priority in our lives, at first, due to income, this may seem incomprehensible. We must see past this and realign our thoughts according to God’s. When we come before the Lord in prayer, humbly asking for His vision for our life, we can expect there to be a change that will need to happen.
You can boldly go before the throne, because of your salvation through Yeshua, and ask for what you need. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
We need to have a realistic viewpoint of how we feed our bodies, both spiritually and physically. When we feed our bodies with nutrient-depleted foods… that is what comes out. Therefore, it is crucial that we put our time and money into the food that feeds our spirit and body, as God designed.
Struggling with finances leads to a struggle in obtaining quality food, thus leading to illness, which ultimately results in… you guessed it, more financial struggles. This is the reason why coming into alignment with God’s Word in prayer is so important in this endeavor.
Hear what God says about your health and wealth…
- “You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness.”—Exodus 23:25
- “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”—Proverbs 10:22
- “…If you will diligently heed the voice of the Lord your Go, and do that which is right in His sight, give ear to his commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”—Exodus 15:26
- “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”—2 Corinthians 9:8
I hope that this sparks something within you. Ask the Lord for good health, as well as for the finances to provide for it. Remember God is faithful.
My prayer is that we will be faithful to desire good health, so that we can become shining examples—witnesses—for our King. That as servants of the Most High God… we will ultimately walk in victory, with confidence and with great joy!
Join us in prayer as you take a leap of faith into this journey of better health!
