What the Bible Says About Health and Wealth | Is There a Connection?

What does the Bible say about health and wealth? Is there a connection? We know stress impacts our health. Stress affects us both spiritually and physically. If we are to answer God’s call in our lives, there are two things we must have…

So then, let’s look at the relationship health has on our finances.

The Connection | What the Bible Says About Health and Wealth …

The truth is, when we have more income, we are able to purchase higher-quality, healthy foods. While making health a greater priority in our lives, this may seem incomprehensible at first due to income. We must see past this and realign our thoughts according to God’s. When we pray before the Lord, humbly asking for His vision for our life, we can expect a change that will need to happen.

The change may be with health, finances, or both. Practically speaking, when you put your financial situation on paper and make the decision to care for God’s temple a priority, He will show you the areas to sow your seed for better health.

You can boldly go before the throne because of your salvation through Yeshua and ask for what you need.  “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).

We need to have a realistic viewpoint of how we feed our bodies, both spiritually and physically. When we feed our bodies with nutrient-depleted foods (both physical food and spiritual food)… that is what comes out.

Therefore, it is crucial that we put our time and money into the food that feeds our spirit and body as God designed it.

  • Remember…
    • Jesus is the Bread of Life (John 6:35).
    • Jesus is the word made flesh (John 1:14)
    • Jesus told His disciples to pray and ask for daily bread (Matthew 6:11)
  • So then, we must feed on Yeshua, the Word. We must find what the Bible says about health and wealth and live according to God’s ways–physically, financially, and spiritually.

Struggling with finances leads to a struggle in obtaining quality food, thus leading to illness, which ultimately results in… you guessed it, more financial struggles. This is the reason why coming into alignment with God’s Word in setting goals is so important in this endeavor.

Hear what the Bible says about your health and wealth…

  • “You must serve only the Lord your God.  If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness.”—Exodus 23:25
  • “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”—Proverbs 10:22
  • “…If you will diligently heed the voice of the Lord your Go, and do that which is right in His sight, give ear to his commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”—Exodus 15:26
  • “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”—2 Corinthians 9:8

I hope that this sparks something within you. Ask the Lord for good health, as well as for the finances to provide for it. Remember God is faithful.

Pray With Me …

Father God,

Thank You that You have armed me with strength for the battles in my life and have subdued those who rise against me. You have given me strength for my days, and You strengthen my heart as I wait on You. I will be of good courage, for You are with me and bless me with peace. You are present with me always, my refuge and my strength. I offer You thanksgiving today for all You have done and are doing in my life.

I want to glorify You and honor You with my possessions so I can live in the overflow of Your blessings and goodwill in my life. Convict me of areas where I have become lazy, and show me the wisdom of a hard-working, generous spirit. Thank you for the refreshment You promise those who walk in Your ways. May I receive Your refreshment today and Your perspective on my circumstances as I wait for You.

In Yeshua’s Holy Name,

Amen

My prayer is that we will be faithful to desire good health so that we can become shining examples—witnesses—for our King. As servants of the Most High God… we will ultimately walk in victory with confidence and great joy!
