In Exodus 17, God prophetically declares ongoing war against Amalek, a symbol of spiritual opposition to His covenant people. He reveals Himself as Jehovah Nissi—The Lord Our Banner—establishing that victory belongs to Him. 

In 1 Samuel 15, Saul’s partial obedience in sparing Agag (the Amalekite king) reveals a spiritual truth: incomplete obedience in spiritual warfare is rebellion. These events, written for our admonition (1 Corinthians 10:11), warn us that God’s desire for us is full alignment with His Word so we can walk in full victory.
