Bringing Dignity to Those Who Have Suffered So Much

Bringing Dignity to Those Who Have Suffered So Much

If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.”—Isaiah 58.10

Did you know that there are an estimated 180,000 Holocaust survivors living in Israel today? Of those, at least 70,000 struggle to maintain an independent life—well over 38%.

Bringing Dignity to Those Who Have Suffered So MuchWith scant pensions, few social support networks, and limited welfare allowances, most of these Holocaust survivors live in desperate conditions. For many, they have been forced to choose between food and other necessities because of financial insecurity.

The challenges facing these precious people are immense.

As aging and frailty take their toll, the number of Holocaust survivors has begun to decline rapidly. Statistics show we lose nearly 13,000 survivors in Israel each year as this generation gradually passes away… In a few short years, there will not be any Holocaust survivors left.

Many of the precious Holocaust survivors who remain live in low-income apartments and lack the funds to adequately maintain their homes. Oftentimes their Bringing Dignity to Those Who Have Suffered So Muchapartments are in dire need of maintenance and repair, making life for many extremely hard and unsafe. Their families and communities were destroyed in WWII, and now they are struggling to live out their twilight years.

At Curt Landry Ministries, we are both honored and humbled to have the opportunity to help many of these needy Holocaust survivors by providing funding for plumbing, electrical, and other basic home repairs, as well as personal, quality of life needs—enabling them to live out their last years with a measure of comfort, support and dignity.

Bringing Dignity to Those Who Have Suffered So MuchIt is our great hope that these people who have already suffered so much WILL NOT be forgotten in their final years.
