How to Be Positioned to Prosper in the New Year

As you prepare to enter into the New Year, you want to know how to be positioned to prosper.

First, you must understand this: Your plan B is killing your plan A. To be positioned to prosper, you have to come out of agreement with your plan B. Focus on setting goals that nurture and grow your plan A.

How do I set myself up for a successful new year? There are many things that you can do. On this podcast, let’s sit here as if we are having a cup of coffee, so to say. 

I want to talk to you about how to set up your year and be positioned to prosper in the New Year.  I’m talking to you from an entrepreneurial apostolic position–a businessman that’s an apostolic prophetic leader.

Positioned to Prosper in the New Year By Getting Your Finances in Order

First of all, before you end this year, get your finances in order with God. If you start short, you’re going to end up short. If you start behind, you’re going to start out behind.

Therefore, make sure that your end-of-year giving is up to date. You want to make sure that you’re not a God robber. That would be the first thing you need to check. 

• Did you tithe off the net gross income last year? As this is the end of the year, it is a good time to sow a seed into Israel, an end-time gift. You want to sow into some good soil, and we are good soil, but you want to make sure your finances are in order.

Take Note: Your Plan B Is Killing Your Plan A

If you’re taking notes, write this down. 

• Your plan B is killing your plan A. 

You need to come out of agreement with your plan B and say, “I have no plan B. I just have a plan A.” 

Your plan A is you have goals you created in the FREE resource we have available to you: Goals to Grow By. 

• Focus on becoming a disciplined disciple, a biblical disciple following after God. 
• Set up habits and patterns and a culture of obedience, making it easier to live out of the fruit of the Spirit, out of self-control. 

Without focus and setting up habits and patterns, nothing works. It’s like dieting. “Dieting” doesn’t work in the long run. Rather you must change your eating and moving habits over time, creating a culture that positions you to prosper in your efforts. 

So, take dieting as an example. You have a 30-day period of time where you just change the way whatever works with your body type, your age, and all those types of things. And basically, if you’ll manage what you put in your body and how you filter it through with your exercise and your habits and pattern.

Positioned to Prosper in the New Year By Getting Your Rest and Sleep

You need rest and sleep. People don’t realize that the unconscious mind doesn’t stop when you’re asleep. That’s when it gets restored. 

And for me, when I have good sleep, I have good dreams. That’s where the spiritual dreams. That’s where the downloads come from. Everyone says, “Well, why does the Lord say I give you vision and old men give you dreams?” (Joel 2:28)

The dreams come from that deep place that your unconscious mind is already storing the desires of your heart. Because the Lord wants to give you the desires of your heart. Your conscious mind may be too filled with troubles, time, tasks, and activities. You may have so much in the conscious that it buries the unconscious. And so you’re going to have to slow down.

Take Note: You Need a Not-to-Do-List

And I want to say this to you. If you read the book “From Good to Great,” it’s a great book, you’ll find out that your to-do list is probably not so much your problem. You need to have a new list called the not-to-do list. 

You need to pair down your activity. Oftentimes, people think, “If I’m busy, then I will prosper.”  So I will tell you, as a business person at 67 years old, 50 years in business, and by the grace of God doing it his way, we’ve been very successful. 

I will say this, busyness and hard work and activity can be counterfeits to your greatness.

So I’ll say something to you: my Olympic adoptive mother who raised me said, “Practice doesn’t make perfect.” She says, “Perfect practice makes perfect.” And so, busyness does not create wealth and prosperity. Managing your time, tasks, and activities over what you’re passionate about and what you’re talented with will prosper your life. 

So if you can focus on where overlaps take place between your passions, abilities, and goals, you will be positioned to prosper in the year ahead. 

This is my prayer for you today on this podcast. If you’re going to finish this year and start the next one out right…

• Get your finances right with God, your tithes and offering. 
• Be prepared for success by getting rid of some of the things you did last year that you were only good at.

See, if you’re good at things and you always enable good. You never get challenged and move into the greatness God has for you. God is great and has something great for you. This is why Ephesians says, “There was a workmanship prepared beforehand.” 

Desire a Connection, Right Standing, and Alignment with God

So when you’re with right standing with God, you…

• Repent
• Sow your seed
• Cleanse your mind 

… Then you will start to get downloads from God, from the unconscious mind into the conscious through your dreams that you remember and through thoughts. 

These dreams and thoughts are tied to your personal passion. Everyone has certain passions. I can tell you my passion, my life is very simple. My passion is to teach people how to take what God said and make it manifest and be real in their life right now. That’s my passion. My passion is to prove God right to you by giving you the tools and the disciplines to actually see the manifestation.

I absolutely hate religion. I’m not a religious person. I am a supernatural spiritual person who operates in spiritual warfare principles that if you align your life right on earth with God, and understand how to claim what is yours in the Courts of Heaven, then you’ll bring heaven to earth, and you will prosper.

Will you have problems? Yes, I have challenges and problems, but I also live a supernatural life in a realm where God has prospered me.

And I’m not just talking about prosperity of finances, though He has prospered me financially. I’m talking about prosperity to push through breakthroughs and to be able to bring the things that I’m called to teach to you so that you can get a hold of it and make changes in transformation. 

Here’s How to Get Aligned…

• You must transform a faith mindset. 
• Let the Word of God transform your faith mindset to transform your soul, which is your free will, 
• Your body will follow so that when you meditate on your passions and identify your talents and skills. 
• Then you’ll be able to “monetize,” meaning you’ll be able to financially afford your passions and skills. 

God put you on earth for a reason. That needs to be your goal for this year. It’s great and necessary to have a job that pays the bills, pays the rent, gets you food, and provides for your family. I get that.

But there’s got to be a place where you say, 

• “You know what? This is 2023, 5783. It’s a year of wholeness. It’s a year where I’m going to identify my passion. I’m going to identify my skills.”

And what you will find is… 

• And you’re going to find out that your God-given skills align with your passion. 

Example…

You’re going to find out that if God has given you a minstrel anointing, then most likely, you’re called to be in the music business, let’s say. Many have musical abilities and musical gifts, but they have yet to figure out how to get paid for it. So the key is this: if you’ll take that skill and that passion and give it to the Lord, then the Lord will show you how to monetize that gift to where you become a high-paid minstrel anointed person. It does happen. I do know people like that.

However…

You cannot be a non-tither and non-offerer and not be able to do it. If you’re just the poor musician waiting for someone to hire you or you hit the song, most likely, percentages show us that that’s never going to happen. You will be that frustrated musician that sells cars or sells real estate or insurance someplace. None of that’s bad. There are people who are called to sell cars and to sell real estate and to be able to be in the marketplace like that. And they have a total passion for it. They absolutely love being salespeople. They love the market. They love perfecting their skills. They love and have that talent, and the more they do it, the more they prosper. 

Your Challenge… 

So I want to challenge you to create and obtain God’s goals. 

• Get Goals to Grow By and be positioned to prosper in the new year. Answer the questions that we have in this and be positioned to prosper in the new year.

That’s what I’m talking to you about right now. If you do not invest in yourself, if you don’t have a self-improvement fund that you invest in yourself every year to be able to take your life to another level, I can tell you, show me your friends, show me what you read, and I’ll show you where you’re going to go.

Because if you’re going to go to different levels, then you’re going to have to have different cultural understandings of life. You’re going to have to live and start living at a different level. And you need to understand your value system. 

Your value system is either…

• A Hellenized world system 

Or 

• A Hebraic biblical value system. 

So if you’re in the Kingdom, you must have a Kingdom value system. Don’t sow a seed financially or with my mouth or an action or deed if it’s not biblical. That’s the boundary for me for 33 years. Every project we get involved in fulfills Bible prophecy. That’s me. I’m not saying that you have to have it.

But you need to understand that when you’re a Kingdom value person, you only say yes to things in your wheelhouse, that’s in your passion, that’s in your purpose, that you can monetize. The Lord says your gift will make way for you. That gift that God put in you will make way for itself when you start honoring the gift. 

You’re not honoring the gift by not cultivating it. You’re not honoring the gift by not pressing in and asking the Lord to reveal it. Because fear comes and goes, “Oh my gosh, I think the Lord’s called me to write a book.” Well, why haven’t you written this book yet? I can tell you the most challenging things we ever did was write my book, Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage, with Thomas Nelson. It was hard, and praise God for Thomas Nelson because by the time I got done, and they took us through nine rewrites, I actually became a much better communicator and a much better steward of my passion for being able to speak to you about your passions, your talents, and your purpose.

In Conclusion…

Seek God for your passion, your purpose, and your talents, sow your seed so that you’re financially blessed, and God rebukes the devourer. You will walk into the wholeness of 5783, 2023, which is a year of wholeness.

So I want to bless you right now. 

“Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank You, Lord, that You made me a new creation. All things have been made new. And I thank You, Lord, that as You set us up for success and prosperity this year in 5783, 2023, Lord, You would show them their passion, their purpose, and how to monetize their dreams in God’s Kingdom. The Lord says that He will provide for you exceedingly, abundantly, above all you could ask or think when you say, ‘Yes, Lord, I will follow the passion You have for me. Yes, Lord, Your Word says You will give me the desires of my heart when my heart is renewed for the Kingdom and not the flesh. And Lord, I thank You so much that the talents and abilities you deposited in me are specific to that passion. Lord, let them come together, and Lord, teach me and show me how to monetize that I might be responsible to be able to take care of my family as I move into my new year facilitating that passion.”
