Activate a Blessing

The Bible has many many scriptures about helping the poor and those who are less fortunate. But the key is actually DOING what the scripture says and not simply skimming over the familiar passages.

When we ACT we activate a blessing in our life and in theirs.

Proverbs 19:17 ESV

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

Seven Steps to Activating Blessings!
Curt Landry takes listeners through seven steps to activate blessings in their own lives! He discusses spiritual protocol, and how to position yourself to receive God’s highest and best. You are ONLY seven steps away from activation!

Seed sown will generate a harvest.

Luke 14:12-14 ESV

He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

Don’t give to get—give to bless!

Isaiah 58:10 ESV

If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.

Giving gives JOY to the giver and the recipient.

Luke 3:11 ESV

And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

Sharing. A very simple principle we learned as children but something we often forget as adults.

Acts 20:35 ESV

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Hard work equips you to be a blessing.

James 1:27 ESV

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

“Pure religion” is not a good sermon—it is living the sermon by sowing into the lives of others. Jesus led by example. He gave us the greatest gift and made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might have life.
