A Man after God’s Own Heart

At Curt Landry Ministries,  we love the Psalms of King David. It is no wonder, since the very name of our congregation is inspired by that selfsame, “a man after God’s own heart.” Psalm 27 rings specifically true to us when we read the words, One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.”

 If you asked any one of us, we would say emphatically that we do not know where we would be had we not remained consistent in our attendance after all of these years. Each service brings encouragement, revelation and insight, as we meet to honor God through praise and worship—while allowing the Word of God to cleanse us from the chaos of a busy, and sometimes, stressful week.

We want to personally invite you to join us regularly for services. There is something special about joining our congregation in person, even if it is just to get a hug around the neck, or a word of encouragement from a like-minded Believer.

However, we know that some of you are far enough away that joining us in Oklahoma may be impossible at this time. But that is no reason to miss out! Mark your calendars, and plan to join us online instead. You can watch our Shabbat services, as well as Prophetic Pieces and Ancient Principles on YouTube, Facebook or CurtLandry.com. We hope that you will join us, one way, or the other!

Until our next service comes around, we leave you with the words of the poet David—a man who lead his life to please His Heavenly Father—may we each be found this week seeking hard after God’s heart, and may His shalom (peace) flood every aspect of our day-to-day lives:

An Exuberant Declaration of Faith

Psalm 27

“The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.

“One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

 “And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

“Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When You said, ‘Seek My face,’

My heart said to You, ‘Your face, Lord, I will seek.’
Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the Lord will take care of me.

“Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.

 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

“Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

From all of us at Curt Landry Ministries, we invite you to join us via LIVE stream if you are unable to attend a service in person. We hope you’ll join us. In the meantime, we send both our love and our prayers out to each one of you and your families.
