Building an Altar to the Lord: Intentional Alignment in Counting the Omer

Share with your family and friends:

As we cross from Iyar to Sivan in May, let us hear the Lord during this time of Counting the Omer, “If you walk with Me in the process, I will bring you into promise.”

This season is a holy invitation to number your days with intention, to allow the fire of God’s presence to refine you. These 50 days are a divine recalibration. The Lord says, “I am cleansing you with My fire so that what is not from Me will burn away, releasing you to walk in your divine assignment.”

Iyar: Healing, Alignment, and the Altar

In Iyar, the Lord calls you to build an altar. Just as Moses built an altar and declared Jehovah Nissi—The Lord is My Banner, so you are being called to establish a place of surrender, worship, and authority. This is strategic alignment, a divine recalibration.

The Lord says, “When you build Me an altar, I become your covering. I go before you. I fight for you. Expect, prepare, have faith, and receive My fire.”

The Lord is preparing you for divine connections and covenant relationships, but those connections must be built on consecration. And be aware of resistance. The Lord is dealing with the Amalekite spirit that comes to distract, wear you down, and oppose your obedience. As written in 1 Samuel 15, the Lord brings judgment against the spirit that has tried to slow your destiny.

In this season, God is removing hindrances, breaking the power of delay, and silencing the voice of resistance so you can move in full obedience to His instruction. “What once fought you will no longer have authority over you,” says the Lord.

Sivan: Instruction, Identity, and Unity

Sivan is the month of Shavuot, a time of impartation and transformation. It is a release of instruction as we remember the giving of the Torah and the activation of identity. The Lord is bringing together what He has spoken over you.

This is the time when instruction meets identity, calling aligns with character, and assignment merges with authority. This is a marriage of Heaven and Earth within you. He is equipping you to live aligned with His Word and instruction in your business, relationships, ministry, health, finances, family, and leadership.

As you prepare for Shavuot, remember the prophetic pattern revealed in Ruth: faithfulness in uncertainty, humility in transition, servanthood in process, and loyalty to covenant. Those who follow the Lord with Ruth’s heart will step into Boaz’s provision.

As you intentionally align with the Lord during this time, put Romans 12:2 in motion, renewing your mind, establishing new habits, and walking in new patterns. The transformation you desire requires a revelation of both identity and assignment.

Embrace who you are (identity) and what you are called to do (assignment). And as you nurture both, balance, alignment, and power come.

Prophetic Decree for the Month of May

Declare this boldly:

  • I am a child of God. Therefore, I rise early to spend time with my Father.
  • I am a child of God. Therefore, I accept my Father’s invitation to join Him at His table.
  • I am a child of God. Therefore, I do not operate in anger or fear because those do not represent who He is or who I am.

Know this: As you decree it, you will become it. As you align with the Lord, He will establish you. This is your month of fire, formation, and fulfillment.
