What happens when God gives you a season of rest, breakthrough, and success? Do you become comfortable—or do you prepare for what He is calling you into next?

In this Shabbat message, Rabbi Curt Landry looks at the life of King Asa in 2 Chronicles 14–16 and the powerful lessons his story holds for us today.

Before God expands your territory, He often instructs you to cleanse what already belongs to you. Asa removed the idols from Judah, called the people back to seeking the Lord, and used a season of peace to strengthen and prepare the nation.

Peace is not permission to become passive. Rest is an opportunity to prepare for the next assignment.

When an overwhelming enemy eventually came against Judah, Asa understood that numbers did not determine victory. He cried out to the Lord and declared, “Help us, O LORD our God, for we rest on You.” And God moved powerfully on Judah’s behalf.

But Asa’s story also carries a warning. After decades of success, the king who once depended completely upon God began relying on his own experience and human alliances.

Past success can tempt us to replace dependence with experience.

Join Rabbi Curt as he explores what Asa’s life teaches us about…

• Cleansing and consecrating what God has entrusted to us
• Preparing during seasons of peace
• Depending on God when the odds seem impossible
• Responding to breakthrough with greater consecration
• Recognizing the difference between a sincere heart and complete obedience
• Guarding against self-reliance after seasons of success

God is still searching for hearts that are fully devoted to Him.
