Your Employment is Important

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1582218216193{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Your employment is more than just completing a task to get paid. To find joy in your employment, there needs to be a sense of purpose and self-fulfillment. People who find joy in their employment feel that they are making a real difference in the world.Finding joy in your employment is possible with any job. That joy often is associated with the atmosphere in which you work. Is it a place that encourages the celebration of achievements or a place where accomplishments go unnoticed?Whichever the case, you can still work with a thankful heart. You might be surprised to find a co-worker who needs to hear the truth. Perhaps this is why God has placed you there for a season. Often, our jobs are the places God works to stretch us out of our comfort zones to speak life to those who have never heard the Gospel. The recognition of God’s divine purpose in our employment situation will bring you joy.“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”—Romans 8:28

Our Employment is Our Ministry

The Bible tells us that we are to work for the Lord, not for men (Colossians 3:23-24).Wherever God has placed you in this season is your place of ministry. This can shift your heart from focusing on fleshly desires to heavenly desires. Our employment is often the place we spend the majority of our time; therefore, let’s ask God how He wants to use us during that time to accomplish His will.As Believers, we are called to respect those in authority (Romans 13:1-2), it is through this respect that we can show them the love of the Father. In the letter the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Colossae, he told Believers to work with a sincere heart that seeks to please God, not men. Our human nature is to do the task at hand and not go above and beyond. But God calls us to work for Him and promises that our work does not go unnoticed and will receive a reward. When we lack joy in our jobs, we first need to come to the Lord in prayer and ask for guidance.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_custom_heading text=”How to Find Joy in Your Employment” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%2328377b” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1580506314954{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Step 1: Start by praying. Ask the Lord what is standing in the way of finding joy in your employment. Or perhaps you are looking for a job and are struggling to find one. The Lord has a specific place in mind for you. Pray that He begins revealing this place and purpose so that you can further His Kingdom. Expect this prayer to be answered!“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”—James 1:5-6Step 2: Check out the resources below. We know that responsibilities at work can consume your mind, will, and emotions. That’s why we’ve developed resources for you to use during your personal time. Use them as a springboard into your study and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you while you read them so that you can find joy in what God has called you to do.Step 3: Meditate on and declare God’s Word. When you begin declaring God’s Word over your situation, there will be a shift in the spiritual realm. Keep standing in those promises. As you wait for the joy in your work to be manifested, praise Him for the joy in your salvation.“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”—Psalm 51:12[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=”Resources to Help Break Free from Financial Hardships” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%2328377b” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1582218349366{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]
