Kingdom Finance Series | Unlocking Your Godly Inheritance, Experiencing Financial Breakthrough

Do you need a financial breakthrough in your life? As we journey through understanding Kingdom Finance, we want to challenge you to look at what is standing in your way of reaching your goals.

First, you must be willing to take a sober inventory of the attitudes of the heart. Then you can begin your journey to understand and unlock your godly inheritance.

Through our experiences within our prayer ministry, people have called in with great hurt, bitterness, and fear about managing their finances and how to give. There are common patterns we see in people regarding giving. These pain points have become strongholds in the hearts of many.

Common Concerns About Giving…

Through my 30 years as a pastor, I have heard many reasons why people hesitate to give…

  • “What if I won’t have enough money at the end of the month?”
  • “What if God doesn’t come through on His promise of provision?”
  • “How do I know my money is going where you say it’s going?”
  • “I don’t have money to pay my bills, how can I afford to give?”

What this truly comes down to is fear and doubt—it is a trust issue with God. When fear takes up residence in our minds and hearts, we naturally move into doubt. We doubt God’s promises in His Word. Nothing drives a bigger wedge in our relationship with our sovereign God than believing Satan’s lies of fear. Once we open the doors to entertain fear, it begins to steal, kill, and destroy the promise. And when that happens, many say, “This doesn’t work!”

We must remember that fear actually moves Satan, and faith moves God. When we are tested in areas of our finances, we should respond with praise and thanksgiving, knowing that the Lord is faithful and can provide a financial breakthrough. We should understand that greater promotion and abundance are coming when we are tested. He wants to know if we can handle the promotion.

There is a different way… choosing change!

Did you know that most of us are afraid of change? Even when we realize that the outcome is going to better our situation, we still hesitate, asking ourselves, “What if?”

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”—2 Timothy 1:7

From our conversations with those who phone in asking for prayer, time and again the issue has nothing to do with finances, but instead they share wounds from the past. A lack of financial breakthrough has become a symptom of a deeper heart issue.

So often, we self-medicate by buying things or seeking pleasure experiences rather than doing the hard work of healing the pain from the past.

I’m going to speak something that may be hard to hear… We oftentimes do not want change when we say we do—or at least we’re not willing to work for it, especially if the journey is difficult. So many times, people have approached us with this issue, but in their heart, they are merely searching for validation for harboring areas of unforgiveness, pride, and other areas of sin in their lives.

When given sound biblical advice, they choose not to follow it, returning only weeks or months later to complain again. What stands in the way of a financial breakthrough? “Some simply want the return without doing the work,” says our Curt Landry Ministries Prayer Pastor, Patty Merritt.

This isn’t to criticize… this is to build a bridge toward freedom. Everyone, including my wife Christie and I, has had to learn these lessons ourselves.

We know many of you have been through some incredibly painful experiences. We understand that you were wronged, abused, and neglected.

It isn’t our heart to chastise you but to merely point out that by holding onto the past, the future will always look dim.

These pains create cycles that continuously creep into your life over and over again, eventually building strongholds that are much more difficult to be removed. For many, these pains become our identity… but these pains do not define who we are—God does. Satan uses these pains to rob you of your current inheritance—a life of jubilant victory!

You can be victorious!

Invite the Holy Spirit into your situation to help you heal and forgive past or present offenses. The desire for victory must outweigh the pain of your circumstances for a financial breakthrough to occur. It takes time to unravel the knots you’ve been in. People often want instantaneous results after spending years cultivating a wrong mindset. It takes time. It takes time with the Lord, and it takes self-discipline.

Experience a Financial Breakthrough…

  1. Take a sound look at your relationship with God. How are you spending your time with Him? Are you allowing Him to guide your daily steps? Your eyes must focus on God and building your relationship with Him. As soon as we lose our focus on Him, we quickly start to slip back into those habits we desire to change.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”—2 Corinthians 4:18

  1. Spend time in the Word of God. It is impossible to understand how God leads us into victory if we do not know what He says about it. I recommend setting aside an amount of time that you can commit to daily and digging into the scripture.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”—1 Corinthians 10:13

  1. Praise God for who He is and what He has done. Praising His Holy name invites Him into our circumstances, and He invites us into His peaceful presence.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”—John 14:27

  1. Prayer activates faith. Praying scriptures over your life stakes a claim over your inheritance. It stamps out the enemy’s lies with God’s truth.

“You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”—1 Matthew 21.22

  1. Find a faithful accountability partner. Find a faithful accountability partner of your gender—one to lean on for prayer. Look for someone who is faithful to keep you on track and won’t allow you to spend precious time merely complaining about the issue. We recommend someone more mature in the area of hurt that you’re going through—someone who has been through a similar situation but has come out victorious on the other side.

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edge sword…it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”—Hebrews 4:12

Putting these steps in place really does lead to a powerful financial breakthrough! We can honestly say that when people follow these steps, putting God first and foremost, other areas of their lives fall into place. This is God’s will for you, to experience a full life, filled with victory—a life of intimate trust built upon a relationship with Him! This is your inheritance…CLAIM IT NOW!

Here is a testimony from past visitor, trusting the Holy Spirit to lead her, she did the hard work, sowing seeds for a financial breakthrough where God called her to, and in the end, experienced blessed fruit…

During my personal prayer time I was profoundly touched by the Holy Spirit for the revelation He gave Patty about how to overcome my situation. I asked the Lord for direction and answers to my questions, and I can testify that He did it through Patty. I felt His presence, love and peace towards me. It was a beautiful time in the presence of the Lord.

Thank you, Curt Landry Ministries, for offering prayer to anyone who needs it, and to Patty for serving the Lord and showing her compassion and love to me and my family.

Also, I want to share that getting connected to your ministry has been an answered to my prayers, as well. About a year ago, I saw your [My Olive Tree] commercial about planting an olive tree in Israel, but I didn’t do it at that time. However I knew I would like to do that eventually.

Time passed and for the last six months I have been asking the Lord to show me and teach me His ways more in depth, and came to the conclusion that I need to learn from a Jewish Roots congregation but didn’t know where to go. Also I was asking Him to show me where else to sow seed. In April of this year, I went to a women’s retreat with my church and during a time of prayer with the Pastor of the retreat, he said to me out of the blue…”You know, a good ground to sow a seed is planting a tree in Israel” and he also said to search the internet for it. Right there I knew exactly which ministry I needed to go to. I knew that it was God letting me know what to do, and where to go. So for our Passover offering to the Lord we planted a tree in Israel through your ministry. It is such an honor to help Israel!

Since then I have been getting the “PowerPoints with Curt Landry” teachings, and I have been connecting online on Wednesdays and Fridays. The services are full of God’s revelation, and Apostle Curt Landry’s teachings are very personal and easy to understand.

So I thank you for your ministry and for all you do. May God continue blessing you, your family, and the entire congregation.

Blessings,

Margarita
