Growing in the Lord

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1582229025211{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]As a new Believer, you can have a whirlwind of emotions from excitement and anticipation to worry and wonder. We encourage you to find a verse that reminds you to stay focused on the Lord.“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”—Matthew 6:33Jesus said that Heaven bursts with joy every time a new Believer repents. “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10).This means that the enemy no longer has an eternal hold on your life (John 5:24). However, just as mature Believers are faced with spiritual battles, so will you be faced. This is why it’s essential to stay connected to other Believers and the Word of God so that you can walk out your faith with confidence. The enemy wants to steal the confidence you have in Christ’s work on the cross. Remind him, and yourself, that the Messiah has set you free (John 8:36)!To continue growing in the Lord…

  • Commit to daily devotional time with the Lord
  • Surround yourself with like-minded Believers
  • Wash your mind with the Word of God

As a new Believer, you can feel stuck in your prayers. You might not have the words to say or know what to pray, but the Holy Spirit intercedes on your behalf. Tune your ears to hear the God’s voice. This way of praying involves the heart, mind, emotions, and intellect. First, spend time asking God to give you the desires of His heart. Pray God’s promises back to Him. This aligns your mind, will, and emotions with His.“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”—Romans 8:26Step 2: Check out the resources below. We understand every Believer needs support and encouragement to grow in the Lord. That’s why we’ve developed resources for you to use during your personal time. Use them as a springboard into your study and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you read them so you can have wisdom and understanding to mature in your faith.Step 3: Meditate and declare God’s Word. One of the most powerful things you can do during your devotional time with the Lord is to declare His life-giving Word. It is by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony that the enemy is overcome. We encourage you to choose verses each week that state your identity in Christ and declare those each morning.“’And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.’”—Revelation 12:11“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I hope in Him!’”—Lamentations 3:22-24[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=”Resources to Help You Grow in the Lord” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%2328377b” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1582229403212{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]
