Are You Struggling with Addiction?
Are You in a Personal Battle with Addiction?
Addiction is no different than any other idol that seeks to have control over your life. It is a spirit that wants you to put it above the Lord.
You could be struggling with…
- Drug addiction
- Sexual addiction
These spirits want to control your mind, will, and emotions. But the fact that you are reaching out today and acknowledging your struggle, reveals you are beginning to place God in control of your life and cutting off addiction’s control. That is a courageous first step.
Breaking the assignment of addiction in your life is about cutting off its control and putting the Lord in control. This is done with the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony (Revelation 12:11).
How to Break the Assignment of Addiction
Step 1: Start by praying in agreement with the blood of the Lamb. Begin praying in agreement with the blood that speaks on your behalf. The blood of Jesus cancels all sin and washes you as white as snow. Surrender your mind, will, and emotions to the Lord today. Lay your struggle at the foot of the cross. Ask the Lord to renew your mind and give you the desires of His heart.
When you delight in His ways, your desires will be transformed and agree with His heart.
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”—Psalm 37:4
Step 2: Check out the resources below. We’ve developed resources for you to use during your personal time. Use them as a springboard and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as to how to use them to break the spirit of addiction in your life.
Step 3: Meditate and declare God’s Word. The only way to overcome the enemy is with the Word. If you want to break the assignment of addiction, start every day by declaring a life-giving Word. The Bible tells us that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. The sword cuts off the assignment.
Being confident in the Word allows you to use it effectively. If you are having difficulty believing God’s promises, pray for your faith to be activated today!
“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’”—Mark 9:23-24
