What is a Shofar?
Several thousand years ago, the Hebrews didn’t have trumpets like the ones we are familiar with today. Instead, trumpets were commonly made with materials such as ram’s horns, which were shaped naturally to be able to project noise loudly and clearly.

What is Special about This Shofar?
Made from real ram’s horn, this beautiful shofar is silver-plated with symbols of a grape cluster, a menorah, and an ephod. The ephod, mentioned in Exodus several times, was a garment worn by the priests.
The Lord described it like this…
- “…and they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, artistically worked. It shall have two shoulder straps joined at its two edges, and so it shall be joined together. And the intricately woven band of the ephod, which is on it, shall be of the same workmanship, made of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen.”—Exodus 28:6-8
The Ephod consists of 12 stones, representing the 12 tribes of Israel.
According to Numbers 10:2, 9-10 (emphasis added):
- “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps…
“When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.”
“Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God.”
Today, those who want a deeper connection to their spiritual roots find the shofar to be a powerful tool in spiritual warfare. It can be a wonderful reminder of God’s deliverance through the blood of Yeshua that engages all of your senses.
