How Did the Church Get Cut Off from Its Jewish Roots?

In Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage, Curt Landry explains how, over time, the Church has been cut off from her Jewish roots. As a result, the Bride of Christ has lost her power and authority on earth.

To better understand the Church’s Jewish roots, read what Paul writes in Ephesians 3…

“… how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)…”—Ephesians 3:3-4 (emphasis added)

Contrary to the Western notion of “mystery,” what Paul is referring to here, in Greek, is the word mysterion. This word carries the meaning of the fullness of God’s revelation and knowledge that was once hidden but now open.

Do you want to know the depth of your spiritual heritage and bring to life the fullness of your salvation, which has been imparted to you through Christ?

God’s Plan | The Mystery of the Church Is Revealed

Paul goes on to reveal the good news and mystery to the Gentiles…

“…which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel…”—Ephesians 3:5-6 (emphasis added)

Did you catch that… you are a fellow heir!! But who are you within the same body? What Paul is saying is that God’s plan is for Jews and Gentiles to come together, as one in Christ—this is the Church.

It Is Time to Reclaim Your Heritage!

What does it mean to reclaim your heritage? It means that when you begin to dig into the Jewish roots of your Christian faith, and you grow in your relationship with your Jewish Savior—Jesus Christ (or Yeshua in Hebrew)—your faith is transformed!

The covenant promises, mentioned in Ephesians 2, are far too often overlooked in the Church. We’ve become comfortable with mundane faith. But for some of you, you are ready to start digging. You are ready to step into the fullness of your salvation and reclaim every promise God has made to you.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”—Joshua 1:8 (emphasis added)

Are You Ready for a Transformation of Faith?

If you want to understand the mystery of your inheritance fully, you need to know the roots of your faith. Don’t let one more day of the mundane claim the joy in your devotional time. Start walking in the covenant knowledge of your inheritance now!
