In Part 1 of this 3-part series we examined Passover’s history, how Jewish and Gentile Believers separated, how Easter “replaced” Passover, and the effect on us…
In Part 2 we began our exploration of the nine blessings of Passover, their importance, and how we benefit from them today…
In this final part we will conclude that exploration.
The Blessings of Passover:
As we discovered in Part 2 there are nine blessings that come with placing our feet under God’s Passover table—the first four of which we examined.
Now we will explore the remaining blessings and learn how Passover itself is a gift from God meant to set us into alignment for our new and bigger season…
Our higher call.
Covenant Protection for Multiplication and Longevity:
Exodus 23:26 promises, “No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
Setting our feet under God’s Passover table prepares us for our next season and increase in calling…
If we live suffering barrenness—of body or heart—we can be distracted from what we were born to do. We can become depressed and fail to leave a legacy; an inheritance.
While for many of us barrenness may not be physical, barrenness of the heart can bring just as much sorrow and desperation. If we feel that our talents and call are unattainable, that we are living in a dry, barren season, then answering a higher call is almost impossible. Our hearts cannot take the sorrow…
This is why God, as part of the fifth blessing of Passover, brings multiplication—removing barrenness—allowing us to answer our call. Yet, God goes even further. He not only brings life to our bodies and hearts, but He gives us the blessing of full days!
God has books in Heaven for each of us. In those books are contained what we were born to do; the number of days we are meant to possess…
Obviously if the enemy had his way none of us would fulfill our call or even the number of days written in our books, which is why God, through the blessings of Passover, promises to fulfill all our days. All the days required to answer the highest levels of our calling on earth; allowing us to be the truest versions of ourselves.
A Godly Release of Fear and Respect from Enemies:
As we discovered in Part 2 of this blog, increase in position and expectation comes with certain requirements; certain tools…
For instance, without the tool of respect, meeting expectations becomes problematic; the same is true of our interactions with our enemies. We must have the right tools if we are to thrive in their midst…
Every time we enter higher levels with the Lord, the enemy sends higher levels of attacks. Thus, when we are entering into our higher calling certain things become required from God for our protection.
God, in other Passover blessings, gives us protection from our enemies; even health and long life. Yet, if our enemies do not fear and respect our relationship with God, we will be attacked needlessly…
Yes, attacks will still come, but with Godly fear and respect the attacks lack the punch they would otherwise have.
Evil is cowardly; if you know who your Father is and that His promises are yours, evil will flee.
Exodus 23:27 says, “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.”
When God is your rearguard, when He stands by you and sends His fear before you… you walk in a level of safety and respect that outmatches any personal security force guarding the richest or most famous individuals on earth. Your being an heir of God becomes apparent, and only a fool would dare attack. Even the enemy knows Godly fear and respect.
“…for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”—Isaiah 52:12
Relief from the Threat of Enemies:
Thoughts and worries about possible attacks from the enemy wear us out and steal our time.
How can we rise to a new level if we are jumping at every noise? Every possible evil thing that could happen? We can scarcely maintain the level we are at without knowing safety…
Worry, fear, and ungodly anticipation are not from God. He desires for us to thrive as we answer our call. This is why He promises the blessing of Exodus 23:28 at His Passover table, “And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you.”
With this Passover blessing in place, before we even reach our higher level, God will drive out our enemies before us, preparing the way for us to enter into our new season. The higher level of our call.
“Thus says the Lord to His anointed… I will go before you…”—Isaiah 45:1-2
He prepares for us a safe path.
The Gift of Dominion and an Increased Inheritance:
Just as with the blessing of “Kingdom prosperity,” increased dominion and inheritance is required to answer our new season and higher call. As Exodus 23:30 says, “Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.”
When God drives out the enemy before us and subsequently gives us relief from our enemies He does not stop there. He also seeks to see that we are blessed; that what had been meant for evil will be used for good. As a result, He transfers the dominion and inheritance that once belonged to the enemy to us, so that we have the physical and financial tools required to succeed in the higher call of the season!
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”—Proverbs 13:22
Freedom from Corrupt Covenants:
Exodus 23:33 says, “They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”
In each of our lives we make connections and relationships with people and things, yet, sometimes we can either make poor choices—often accidently—or the choices that were good for past seasons fulfill their purpose…
While change often seems intimidating, God prepares our hearts and minds over the course of time. It may feel unsettling or even scary, but with our eyes fixed on God He is able to remove our worries.
Those changes that sting usually stem from our trying to cling to past things not meant to make their way into our future—things corrupted or with their purpose fulfilled.
Covenants affect our habits and patterns, and often we require certain relationships to move us into position for the next Godly encounter. If we keep the same few covenants our whole lives, we cannot grow…
God, just as He gives protection, and every mental and financial tool we require, He prepares our way. In the God ordained covenants that He provides, are all that is meant for us to be free and cleansed from all false covenants and destructive relationships!
In this season, as we enter into fellowship with God at Passover—sitting at His table—we are readying ourselves to enter our new season… our higher call.
This is why the timing of God’s calendar—where He placed Passover within it—is so important. It is a time of transition and preparation. A time for lessons and teaching from God. And, of course, it is a time for blessings from Him!
Nine blessings that set us into alignment with Him AND allow us to answer our call. Blessings that allow us to rise above and enter a level that not long ago we each would have thought too lofty for us!
With Godly humility and joy we slide our feet under God’s table this Passover to follow His ordinances, learn the importance of His Word, and with great expectation, take possession of the blessings promised of God.
